Any one see it yet? I remember watching it when I was little and liking it. I was afraid to watch them again on the Sci-Fi channel only to hate it as an adult. I've been watching them and now my wife and i are hooked! The show is awesome! Looks cheesy but it has kind of a sci-fi vibe and is kind of serious for a Saturday morning kids show.

The movie was cool but Will Farrell almost ruins it. Everything about the movie I liked, sleestaks, Enik, Grumpy, the pakuni, even the new Will, and Holly (didn't think I would like them). But Will Farrell as Rick Marshall was really annoying. It shouldn't surprise me. He's been doing a horrible job promoting this movie anyway.

I am REALLY not interested seeing this movie. Looks so stupid and not funny.
Will Ferrell is not funny, no matter what he tries.

He's milked the teat of SNL skits someone thought would make for feature length gold so dry, there's a vacuum.
Even Adam Sandler and the other SNL-ers, Jim Carrey, knew when to stop, take a break or try to create new magic.
Myers knew when to stop Wayne's World and do Austin Powers.

A rental for the kiddies, here. nothing more.

I'm surprised to hear that; I've never seen Will Ferrell stop at only almost ruining a movie.

Anywho, I'm not familiar with the original TV show this is based on, but trailer looked absolutely terrible and if that's where "the good parts" were...then I truly, truly pity anyone who has to sit through this.

It just does not look like a good movie... At all... And I just saw Up, so I'm gonna have HIGH expectations for a movie with lots of CG.

He started on In living color the best skit comedy show of all time.

    Also Will sucks.

    I know that.
i was mentioning a fellow slapstick comic who made movies in a similar manner...as JC did with Ace Ventura.
i shoulda used a semicolon to punctuate better. lol.

The original show was gawd-awful, but as a kid, stop motion dinosaurs and hissing reptilian monsters were the bee's knees back then. just like the G1 'toon, it has lots of flaws, but to us who watched it after school or weekends, it is now just nostalgic camp.

i saw a couple episodes on Chiller yesterday. WTF?
    it ain't that scary, lol.

now the movie......maybe it is so bad to be scary enough for Chiller.

Ferrel hasn't done a good movie since Stranger Than Fiction, and even then that was a departure from what he normally does. He should go back to SNL. His "style" isn't something that translates to the silver screen effectively.

What SNL skits did he milk for movies? Night at the Roxbury and... well, that's it, really, unless you count cameos he did in other films like Ladies Man and Superstar.

Anchorman, Telledaga Nights, Semi-Pro, Step Brothers, Elf... all original. He has 3 other films that are adaptations - Curious George, Bewitched and Land of the Lost - but none are SNL skits.

Jim Carrey was never an SNL alumus, and Mike Myers took a break from Wayne's World to do Austin Powers, Austin Powers 2, Austin Powers 3, Shrek, Shrek 2, Shrek 3, Shrek 4 and the wretched Love Guru. Hardly a career I'd recommend emulating for its breathtaking diversity.

In terms of doing something different, Farrel had the fantastic Stanger Than Fiction, and I'd even give him some credit for doing some song and dance in The Producers.

I haven't paid to see any of his films, though I caught a few on cable, but if his "style" didn't translate well, why do so many of his movies make so much money?

Isn't that like saying "Well, I just saw Glory, so I'm going to have high expectations for a movie with lots of black people in it"?

The movie was marketed to children when it was anything but. How this thing got beyond a green light, I have no idea. The original series was written by Star Trek vet writers and was much better than this so-called comedy/parody. The mythos was there for a good movie, instead they decide to make fun of it and have man-apes feel up the humans. The mystery of the pylons and the creepy sleestaks were there to be taken seriously. I'm glad this thing bombed into oblivion, as it serves universal and the so-called creative team right.

Please tell me you're joking. Just because his movies make money doesn't mean they are quality. Look at Britney Spears. her music is sh!t, but people still buy her albums and shell out for overpriced tickets.
