Not sure if there's already a thread on this, but there's an article on the LA Times website discussing a scene-for-scene preview of Transformers The Ride:

Scene-by-scene preview: Transformers ride at Universal Studios - latimes.com

Something I noticed was the article's profound lack of research on the actual movies, in the scene descriptions they say that Bumblebee is a Volkswagen Beetle, Sideswipe is a Lamborghini, Starscream is an F-15 and Sideways is a motorcycle...

If those G1-esque notes (VW Beetle, Lambourghini, bulldozer, F-15 jet, motorcycle) are just errors of the writer, then the ride sounds like it's a pretty cool story - for an amusement park ride, anyway.

Spring 2012, opening day Universal Studios Hollywood. I will be there. Well, maybe opening week.

Opening month, at least. For sure, opening month.

Brady McDonald is an idiot. I've been reading his articles for years and he never does his research and is very biased.

Really nice read, but the alt-modes are all wrong. Anyway, I'll be looking forward to seeing Grindor, Grindor/Blackout, Starscream, Sideways, Devy & BONECRUSHER.

So I take it that the guy who wrote that article didn't actually go on the ride himself but just got the info second hand since it would be hard to confuse a Camaro with a VW Beetle.

A G1 TF ride would've been awesome too though ;)

It's almost as though the article's editor wanted more descriptive info on the characters you encounter in the ride, quickly googled their names, and added in the G1 alt modes by mistake.

Tbh it all sounds a bit meh, but then again I've never been a fan of these types of rides.

That would explain...everyone, actually. Bee, Bonecrusher, Sideswipe and Starscream are all listed as their G1 alt modes.
