I really liked Unicron-9's Lord Starscream repaint of Gundam Kyrios, so I picked up the model kit and made Skywarp.

I didn't bother with the "coronation" style because that really only applies to Starscream. I applied Skywarp's color scheme as I saw fit. I think it came out really well.

I'm somewhat amateur and lazy. I know I NEED to prime my figures, but I don't. Big mistake for Gundam models. The paint chips REALLY easily because the finish on the plastic is so smooth. At some point, I will remove the paint, prime it, and then redo it in this exact same color scheme.

Stupidity aside, tell me what you think.

Thanks. Yeah, me neither. But I LOVE Skywarp and wanted a Gundam version. So I went looking for a good suit to make him from.

I think ReZEL is a wonderful mobile suit for TF repaints. A very nice tankformer. I've been thinking about getting one and making it into Megatron or Shockwave.

The idea is there - very WFC-esque. Do a head swap and you're absolutely golden. Of course, prime and repaint but you've already mentioned that.

I'm not big on head swaps. I never have any spare parts and don't really come across/look for junkers. The only head swap I ever did was ROTF sideswipe repainted and then put on Swerve to have G1 colors. I was thinking it would look more like the classic seeker head if I just took of the head fins.

Works really well for the most part, except there's maybe a bit too much unbroken silver around his waist/hips. The big shape behind his butt could maybe be painted black or something, and the weird prongs that stick down from his pelvis maybe need a little bit of detail. It just runs together a bit.

Otherwise I like it! I might have to do a repaint myself of this figure if I can find it cheap :D

I really think it's the pictures doing that. It looks a lot better in person. I was actually thinking about cutting off the prongs, but I prefer modification that I can undo.

    Hah, thanks.
