In 2004 Takara released the the KT Figure Collection in part to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Transformers. They were non converting, break down figurines. When you open the package, the toys in broken in components and you have to put it together. There were no instructions but you could easily figure out how they assemble it based on the pictures on the package.
I bought these figures second hand so It is not complete not in perfect condition. I was going to sell them and take pics so I may as well review them to share before I do.
All the figures come with a trading card and rubber stand. Optimus Prime is just a bust. The parts are the head, chest, and torso.

You can push the part in the back to open the chest and reveal the Matrix of Leadership.

The Matrix is removable too. The head is also posable.

Frenzy and Rumble consist of a body 2 piledrivers, 2 guns, and a rock base. I do not have a complete version of both. One of the guns has a broken tip and Rumble's leg pegs are cut so that he can stand without the base[IMG]
The piledrivers can rotate and pump up and down.

Devastator, Hot Rod and Arcee are all separate pieces. Devastator's left arm is also separate from the base.

The most unusual (and probably most valuable) is RID Ai-chan with Sky-byte and Optimus Prime. I think Sky-byte is glued on the base. He is spitting out water, which is how he is attached to the base. The base is a hot spring for bathing of course.
Americans are not really used to these types of ecchi (perverted) toys. Even though Ai-chan is supposed to be a computer, she still looks like a elementary school girl. This is definitely NSFW.

Optimus Prime is in the back peeping so he can check on the Predacon Sky-byte without Ai-chan noticing. He is supposed to be an honorable Autobot.

Something about this makes me feel like sex offender so I am putting it away now.

I seen those TF gashapons all the time but I never really like them. But knowing that the Matrix is removable makes me wanna buy that Prime. ;)
    Thanks for the photos!

Yeah, put me in this camp as well. I just sometimes don't get Japanese culture.

    The rest do look cool.

as if it's a surprise to anyone, the Ai-Chan figure was designed by the same guy who they would hire to make the Kiss Players manga and figurines years later

I think people who read Kiss Players will still freak out. American Transformers collectors are not used to this stuff and benefit greatly from not being exposed to it, believe me.
Some trivia: Kaiyodo also makes Revoltech.
