It's an asian market thing, I think. I generally don't touch the straight KO's. But when they start messing with the size and other things we often end up with more desirable toys than the originals.
It would be hysterical if Hot Rod were first revealed as a KO and then an actual official toy revealed (assuming there even is a Hot Rod, and I'm concerned on that one).
Upscale it, give it wrist swivels, a better paint-job and bigger weapons and I'll buy it for more than a dollar.

Just knowing how they tend to approach things (and that the optimus is clearly a KO), I suspect Prime is oversized. Furthermore if he isn't, it won't be long before we have multiple OS sizes available. The quality of course will vary.
Even though upscaling will no doubtedly solve their stature, I fear that Barricade at least will still look stubby. The original figure is very squat, and upsizing that same aesthetic wouldn't do much for his appearance Also, it's too early to tell, but it almost looks as if this Prime's packing a non-masked face. Hmmm
