Before I start this review, let me get one thing out of the way: There is no mistaking that this toy is a knock-off. Without the shipping and importing fees, I imagine that it sells for about $5.00.... When you hold it, it looks and feels like a knock-off. There's just no getting around that for something this cheap.

    Having said that...

I'm impressed! For about $18.00 shipped, I have a fully-functional correctly colored Devastator in WST scale.

    The good stuff:
The molds and transformations all accuratly mimic the full-size originals in every way. The only joints I found missing were: Longhaul's fists don't fold in to transform, Hook's pin that holds Bonecrusher in place does not swivel in when not in use, and Scrapper's pegs that hold the bulldozer plow out for the leg mode don't retract for robot mode.

Everything holds together. Reasonably tightly too. Nothing falls off of the combined Devastator. In fact, three of the 4 limbs actually take a fair amount of force to remove. Fists and chest plates fall off if force is applied (moving them while posing, etc), but in all no complaints.

It comes with all of the accesories including hand weapons for a few of the individual 'bots and Devastator's gun.

    It's really inexpensive.

    The bad stuff:
When they shrunk the molds down, they didn't re-design anything to take the small size into account. This results in some REALLY thin plastic parts. Nothing looks like it will fall apart on it's own...but I wouldn't exactly give it to a little kid either.

The stickers are a joke they are applied so bad. I litterally had to remove and re apply every single one. Most were hanging over the edge of the plastic. Oh well, at least there are stickers. :)

Almost nothing is painted. The tiniest bit of silver on the 'bot heads and a rather nice job on the Devastator head. Aside from that, nothing.

Some wheels are pinned on sloppy.

Some 'bot heads are really poorly done.

Longhaul doesn't quite come together in vehicle mode.

Scrapper can't stand up in 'bot mode without his shovel pointing straight up.

About the scale... the Ebay auctions for these things show Mixmaster standing next to a WST Magnus w/o armor. Mixmaster looks smaller. But in reality, his legs are misstransformed in the pic making him shorter. When correctly transformed, all of the 'bots are a bit bigger than WST. It makes them look a little out of place in 'bot mode, but they look just fine in alt mode since construction vehicles are a bit larger than cars anyway. Devastator also fits right in with the scale. Devastator is the size of a small-ish deluxe.

My appologies for the picture quality, but I was in a hurry and I had a point n' shoot.

So yeah... the set has it's faults. But again, it is fully-functional tiny Constructacons for your WST army. And it's cheap. This thing gets my full recommendation. :)  Pure cheap plastic awesome-ness! :thumbs2:

I guess that's why my website bill is so low every month... :D  Odd, I can still see the pics. Anyway they're just ugly point n' shoots with the flash on. Just to show scale.

Once I go nuts on these guys with paint apps and Bare Metal adheasive chrome foil I'll post some real pics. :)

The chrome is pretty expensive... $6-$8 a sheet depending on what color you get. They have chrome, extra shiny chrome, black chrome, gold, and copper....but the copper doesn't work so well. Just google Bare Metal. It's awesome stuff.

i agree. these smaller KOs are actually more sturdy, with sharper sculpt than regular KOs.

I should have taken a shot with my Universe Micro Dev.... It's almost exactly the same size. The KO G1 dev is the slightest bit shorter.

Sorry it took me so long to get the comparison photo (and sorry for the poor point-n'-shoot quality) but here is bootleg Dev next to Universe Dev. The bootleg is actually shorter than I thought...

The poor man's Devastator, aka World's Smallest Contructions

Allright, while on eBay, I got a Devastator. Being a bootleg, I expected something not so great. Boy, I was wrong! Although very small compared to any other gestalt Transformer, this one is still pretty cool because it sizes up perfectly for people with World's Smallest Transformer figures!

    Anyways, here's a review:

Basically, he looks like a G1 Devastator, but is of course, made of plastic, over metal.

His size, doesn't really go over 15 centimeters, which is convinient if you're running out of room for those big ol' Transformers.

    Allright, here's the basics...

Articulation: We're dealing with Transformers, so I can't expect much movement, especially from the G1 line, which I'm cool with. And, like every Transformer that combines, movement will sometimes cause the piece to fall off, like an arm or a chest plate. This is no exception, but it's not incredibly loose like some bootlegs. 7/10

Design: My opinion is biase here, but Devastator has always looked badass! The figure looks pretty cool, and hell, even as a bootleg has the Decepticon stickers all over him! The compactability just makes me love it for some reason. 8/10

Packaging: Sorry, no pics for this (except for the back), but the packaging was allright. Basically a picture of Devastator on one corner, and him as Contructions at the bottum. The back, however, is the instructions on how to assemble ol' Devvy, and although hard to see, it deems no problem; I didn't plan on transforming him. He came assembled as Devastator, which I really liked, so the packaging was extra awesome to me. 8.5/10

Accessories: Well, what can I say? He's got his BFG,a cannon on his head, and hell, even some really tiny Contructicon accessories. They fit will in his hand, too. 7/10

Playability: Well, I didn't buy this badboy to play with, but if you had to, you could pull off playing with him, although his right leg comes off a bit easily. 4/10

Price: $4.00 to buy, $5.00 to ship. I spent $10.00 to get a Devastator, so it's like $1.75 a Contructicon. Not too bad, since I spent $4.00 on the small Micromasters that are only a bit bigger. 8/10

If you want to see Rail Racer, Devastator, with Bruticus leaning on a shoe, this is the picture for you.

Overall: I like him! It's cool, fits sleekly in with my other figures, I love the colours. If you've got 10 bucks to spare, a week to wait for shipping, eBay has almost every gestalt Transformer for $4.00-$6.00 American dollars, but a few dollars to ship (coming from Hong Kong, for $3.00 I expected a 4 week wait atleast, but hell, it took a week, if that.) If you love "World's Smallest" Transformers, go for this guy, or whom ever your favourite combiner is. He deserved his 8/10. And I'm out!

No problem! When they're so dirt cheap on eBay, it's a good opportunity!

I've got this one as well, and I gotta say it is nice to have, esp if you love the WST like I do. Like Paper Mariowned said, it is made out of KO quality plastic and has horrendeous stickers, but the size is perfect for the WST and even the WST Dinobots.

I hope at some point to pick up a Bruticus, in the RiD colour scheme (show, not the horrible toy). Can anyone vouch for how Bruticus/Ruination/Baldigus fares quality, sticker, and strength wise?

Another set I would get is Menasor, but I want one with full Stunticons, not 2 technobots.
Might be a good thing for Justitoys to try, WST Scale Dead End and Wildrider to go with the K.O, I bet they'd sell a fair few.
