Not a comment about the quality, but since it now sits in a cabinet with some other TF's, I've noticed how perfectly in scale he is with MP Grimlock. It's a shame Shocky isn't more posable otherwise it'd make for some awesome poses.

Just picked one up and I'm rather impressed!

The plastic is of good quality.

The right toe is loose and will not lock in place, but is OK when it is displayed in robot mode.

In comparison with the original... It's a very, very close remake.

If you could afford one and would not mind buying a KO, then do it!

    I did and I don't regret it.

I have always wanted a MINT G1 Shockwave and this was the cheapest way of getting one.

I'd only get one to have a minty MIB one for display, after reading all the quality issues. Pretty glad I got a vintage authentic one last year before these were made.

Another box art difference I happened to notice that I am not sure you mentioned. On the back behind Starscream in the lower right. In the KO on the left it looks like Skywarp finishes transforming just above the UPC symbol, while in the original Skywarp finshes transforming behind the UPC symbol.

I wish I'd gotten one of these when it came out. I'd love a G1 Shockwave, legit or not.

Wow. Wish I'd seen this thread before buying a ko Shockwave after Christmas. The quality is not too bad but I got suckered and paid over the odds. That said the figure looks great and once the legs are sorted it will be a good addition. Never going to trust any eBay listing which includes a box again.....

True about the QC but after selling my broken Shockwave (tip missing & hose cracked) I'm now beginning to appreciate how good the ko looks on display. It is a very very close copy and as long as the seller is up front and the price is right, go for it! I'm still in the market for a mint original but for now the ko will do nicely.

Looks like Takara teased a reissue in the flaps of the boxes of the Chronicles line... the one featuring both the DOTM Voyager and the G1 version of a character. However, it's been months since we heard about any development in the Chronicles line, so maybe the DOTM Shockwave + G1 Shockwave box has been scrapped.

I ordered mine from ioffer as well. He's my classics shockwave stand in, untill we can get a decent sized one. I think he fits in very well.

As far as qc, mine's was perfect. All the joints are nice and tight. Which was surprising, I was fearing he might be a floppy mess. For the price, he's totally worth it.
