While most Replica G1 KO Transformers (ones made to be near perfect copies of old G1 toys) usually focus on toys from 1984 and '85, seems someone figured out there is demand for later G1 as well. Reports are coming out that a replica KO Weirdwolf is in production. Pictures here:

Full Metal Hero - G1 Headmasters KO Weirdwolf - Images Inside !!

As usual buyer-beware on any sudden deals on a MISB toy you find online, but for those who want to get a good deal on a fun Headmaster toy, this might be good news.

We had that already at Botcon. Besdies, it kinds defeats the purpose of making a G1 Replica KO to make a new toy. This is a REPLICA of the 1987 Weirdwolf.

Botcon releases do NOT count as classics. Cool though they may be.

That's a Cybertron mold. It may work as a decent stand-in for some, but not for others that would prefer a Classics-style mold be created somehow.

As for the KO...I hadn't intended to pick up a Weirdwolf anytime in the near future due to other priorities, but it's good to know to be careful if/when I ever do look into picking one up. Too bad a legit reissue hasn't been offered previously.

Those were Classics molds though. The previous post is in reference to non-Classics molds that some people try to shoehorn into Classics per their personal preferences.

But that mold is so fugly, even colored as weirdwolf. I think the headmasters need more updates. I do appreciate the ko makers though expanding there product past the 84-85 toys. I hope this will get us closer to a ko fort max:drunk

Botcon Huffer = Unicron Trilogy Huffer, for me. In the end it's personal preference (some may use the PCC Huffer as a stand-in as well), but for me there is no Classics Huffer until Hasbro/Takara makes one using a Classics-style mold. Unicron Trilogy stuff belongs in its own, albeit perfectly respectable, corner when I fill out lineup rosters.

Anyways, it's too bad KOs don't nudge Takara to reissue certain things they haven't. A Weirdwolf KO that spurs them to include some Headmasters in Encore would be great but we still haven't seen a Sunstreaker or Mirage reissue (if we ever will). Oh well.

HasTak reps have stated that both the Sunstreaker mold and the Mirage mold are either lost or too damaged to be reused/recast.

I know it's been said...I was getting at that KO makers have molds (whether originals ended up in their hands somehow, or they reverse-engineered the originals) and it's too bad their ability to make them wouldn't spur Takara to do what they need to do to reissue them themselves, whether that means dusting off the originals that are in their possession, repairing the originals or straight-up making new molds (Rumble/Frenzy was written off for a while until it showed up in Encore, I think some thought Hound was gone until it showed up in the Collection series, and a lot of us thought Devastator wouldn't happen and it's due to hit retail in the next week or so).

Well damn. If they start popping out all the Headmasters then I'm probably going to have to buy them all.

According to KOtoys they are also making those three exclusive Powermaster engine repaints from Japan - Aquastar, Boretto, Zetca.
