I know, right? It's been frustrating waiting for a proper gray starscream, and unfortunately Howling Meteor does NOT have the MP aesthetic I like. I wasn't keen on doing a complete paint job on a transforming toy, but I didn't see any current or future options.

so which is the one to get? the robot hero or the tanaka? I'm not worried about the color scheme as I plan on doing a custom paint job. I'm more concerned about articulation, quality, etc. It's hard to tell which one his which, since this thread has two different versions (plus the repaints). I will be going with starscream, since the light color will make for an easier paint.

If it helps, I do have tanaka sideswipe.

    @jetrobo Very nice :thumb

Think I would like a completely real life deco even more.

Damn, makes me realise I still haven't bought a single version, because I can't decide which ones I'd actually want. Likely the greenscream version and maybe the TC version?????

Get the Robot Hero - generally better quality, mold improvements to the torso locking tab, feet, and ankles, and extra smirking head. If you want something closer to 1/48 or must have the coronation gear, the Tanaka would work better.

Thanks! Believe me, I was this close to doing a real-life deco, but kept on course to finish the G1 seeker trio. I couldn't figure out how to paint the wing tabs without everything rubbing off, so that would have remained an eyesore.

These things are huge, I can barely get them all in decent shot with my crappy cell phone cam.

Where did you get those decepticon stickers? Also would be cool if a 4P or RH themselves made a heads pack with some having blue, orange & Purple painted eyes. That would be awesome, I'd pay 50 for that!

Nice sticker application. I'm just not a big fan of the Bayverse style Decepticon logo (the eyes).

Thundercracker - Ocean Metal decals for regular MP-11
Starscream - Ocean Detail decals for the Tanaka OS SS
Skywarp - just some waterslides I got off ebay because they were the lighter lavender I was looking for. I'll need to replace them because the nose symbol is rubbing off.

They are all undersized for the RH OS scale.

Doesn't bother me. I just like having the symbols different for these three. I'll upgrade when something better eventually comes along.

Yes, what I was saying is they are designed for the Tanaka scale, but the listing says CD01/CD02, which are the two RH Starscreams. You can see in the pics that they are slightly too small for the RH, so should be good for the Tanaka.

Reprolabel's set is like 99% ready fit-wise, I just tested the latest revision last night. And the insignia are much larger than anything else I've seen.

Do you mean reprolabel's white backed con logo sheet? They revised it? My only issue with reprolabels is that their non-clear backed Decepticon logos are not cut close enough to the crown edges. There's too much white/silver/gey space there. Is that what they are revising?

I got the Tanaka version of Starscream, hoping they'd put out the other Seekers, and... they didn't. So now even though I want OS Seekers, I'd be looking at investing over $300 MORE into a mold I already have 3 (or MORE) iterations of ALREADY at the standard size FOR EACH CHARACTER. Which just seems insane, on the face of it.

But they're so perfect for Alternator scale/MPP bots!!! AAAARGH

If anyone is ever selling this set at a discount, I'd jump on it though.
