Man, I hope this line isn't dead. There's still a lot of the CW bots I've been waiting for them to oversize and the Monsterbots are a natural "no brainer" to getting the OS treatment along with Broadside and a few others.

 

It's dead. They phoned it in on this last wave.

 

To be fair, people have said their OS RID line was dead and they keep squeaking out new bots.

Some more than others but they still have to put the effort in to steal the files and upscale them for production.

That reminds me to make that point again, these KOs are generally made from stolen design files these days so it's possible they just haven't gotten their hands on any files of late.

That's how it used to be done but modern KOs are either factory rejects or they engineer their own mold from stolen design files. I'm sure some companies still reverse engineer things but all too often we're seeing 1:1 KOs that are perfect replicas whereas a reverse engineered toy would have subtle differences.

 

Well, nuRiD Megatronus has a visibly different face, so it might've been reverse engineered.

Not sure what u guys mean about the last wave being dialed in. I'd say they are exactly the same as the original hasbro/Takara but just OS which is good enough for me.

I like that they are bigger and cheap so the kids can handle without worry.

 

what they mean is that compared to the first four who have extra improvements (arm cover on hardhead and skullchruncer, folded blades on highbrow, etc), these last three is just straight up oversize. Heck they didn't even use solid plastic on mindwipe's wing tip, like they did on skullchruncher's cockpit door. This doesn't necessarily mean they are bad, of course, just that it feels like wei jiang lost the fume.

 

My MW's back wings are bent, and the volcano setting on my old lady's hairdryer didnt help. I give em two years before they become a goo.

 

Die cast metal is an improvement. Did you pick up WeiJiang Mindwipe? Did you compare the weight to the Hasbro version?

The WeiJiang version of Mindwipe has some serious heft to it.

which is why i said "compared to the first four", not "compared to hasbro version". All 7 has diecast, so i agree that all of them are better than hasbro version. But compared to the improvement they did with wei jiang hardhead, skullchruncher, highbrow, and brainstorm, the last 3 guys feels a bit lacking on that department. The first four had more extra improvements besides added diecast, but the improvement on the last three is only diecast and nothing else.

 

There isnt much to improve on weirdwolf. I always thought he was a very "complete" deluxe.

And Diecast is indeed an improvement beyond being oversized.

 

straight up oversize compared to the first four, because they do not have extra change to the molding. Diecast is not considered as special care anymore for wei jiang standard, because they pretty much just throw it in on every single product they make nowadays.

 

Every problem that I had with the original Mindwipe is still there. The crotch, hip joints, ankles... Flimsy, small wings, shield...

Gray head aside, their Skullcruncher was a great fix.

I try not to complain over $12 but, damn.

 

I painted Chromedome's face cause it was annoying me his... well, dome not being chrome!  



Not a professional but I'm happy with how it turned out hehe.

Now just gotta wait for Wolfie (yay finally) and the bat and I'll have all of them!
