For those that have these in hand, what size figures will fit in the cockpits other than the os headmasters? Would say mega bloks fit. I would consider getting some of these just for that reason.

 

I would assume the CAD file has all the information for the mold mates. So probably Nautica as well and possibly even Arcee unless she was a late retool.

 

You would be wrong. The CAD drawings for Hot Rod, Twinferno, and Triggerhappy leaked and had no information regarding mold mates.

slim megablocks figures can sit, but canopies may not close.
bulkier figures, like ninja turtles, won't fit at all.
I managed to get a halo mech pilot to sit inside champsosaurs perfectly, but it took a lot of wiggling because his shoulders are too wide and once he's in there you can't maneuver his legs in any way.

lego figures will work perfectly for some(champsosaurs) but won't fit at all for others(diehard) because the legs are a bit wider.

 

You know how there are some 3rd party G1-styled guns made for the official TR headmasters? Does anyone know if someone is making G1-styled guns for these WJ oversized headmasters as well? I thought about getting what's out there now for these OS figures, but even if I somehow thicken up the handle pegs or narrow down the fist ports to fit these guns, they are still too small in scale vs the figures these guns would be matched to.

 

Someone at the KO TF Discussion THread mentioned they had plans for some shapeways stuff. I wish we could specify sizes for Shapeways. Then, we could work out the upscale ratio of the Wei Jiang KOs and order accordingly! I might actually order a loose Hardhead KO just for the extra gun, as it's cheaper to do so than order ONE shapeways version...

Anyway, I was moaning to Reprolabels about the lack of support for OSKO's like this, as they have sets for the original sized figures. However, in Brainstorm's case at least, they added all the tampos on the original and then ADDED MORE paint details on the wings, etc to match the tampos. This makes my own custom paint job that much easier.

 

Not sure if I want a giant Blurr, though. Having Brainstorm being bigger helps ignore the similarities in the molds...

Also, for those wishing to repaint Brainstorm's canopy; another idea could be to paint the rear of the cockpit chair orange, which would then show in robot mode, homaging the G1 orange cockpit colours, without the need to paint the actual cockpit.

Counterpoint: I throw away (recycle) every box I get unless it's for some $200+ item, so saving the $5 is a no-brainer. It'll save me $35 by the time I buy all 7 figures.

 

I'd at least like that piece to fit Brainstorms fuselage to his back upsized.
