I'd guess that this is upscaled from stolen design files. Unlike the Black Apple designs that are all the work of one person.

 

I was one of those fervently hoping for an OS SS Prime, but this is far from what I expected!

This is simply a blown-up SS mold with additional paint apps. I was really expecting some engineering improvements ala M01 Commander, but this figure is simply not it. No articulated fingers and the backpack is still there. The simple, minimalistic paint scheme on the original SS Prime was actually good, but WJ had to ruin it by trying to make an MPM paint scheme!

It's a Bank Holiday in the UK so there may be some offers for ebay & or Topcashback - EBay UK is way way overdue for a site wide offer that isn't just on vacuum cleaners and other random stuff.

I'd certainly consider this - I'm getting a Nice little collection going of Big Optimus' and it's fun to be able to add one when the whim takes me.
Also there is the Oversize Blackout, Brawl and Megatron too as well as that curious Nitro Zeus repaint - so it will be nice to have the set.

I hope as the popularity is confirmed with the sort of people who make upgrades that replacement hand options will become more common - I'm still puzzled why M-01 Commander doesn't have his own hands - when essentially all that is needed is a mild alteration of the Original (pre-knuckle duster) UFO hands. But then i'm stull rather puzzled why there isn't more options for ROTF Leader Prime derivitives that allows the toy to Transform with out removing the hands (which you have to do with the knuckle duster hands). Especially as there is things like the KO Clear Optimus that could do with some new hands now.

But yeah I'll be buying this - it's just a matter of when.

Irrelevant. They're completely different molds with vastly different engineering. Different products entirely regardless of size.

See, the majority of the pics show him always from the front...that backside needed a lot of work IMHO to justify a purchase from me, and to include better hands, and be in the MPM scale. If this is OS of the voyager, why go all the way up to M01 scale?? Why not stick to the more widely purchased MPM scale. I get it. The want their own line, but from a sales perspective, scale wise I believe it would have made more sense the other way.
