Here it is. KO Oversized Masterpiece Ironhide
If the term is older than this, we didn't know it.
Well, there you go. I didn't recall which figure prompted it (I was going to guess 1:18 Sideswipe or KU MP Starscream), but I knew you and I had been using it for quite a while. I never did get KU Ironhide after all that.
Well the term is new to me and I like it, so here is a comparison of the knocked-up and NBK versions. I don't know if NBK is the same size as the original or not. Also, in my haste I forgot to flip the panels on the NBK legs.
So... NBK's KO simplified the design a fair bit, is this OS version closer to the original GT Gravity Builder?
At least they didn't go with that horrific orange in the windows...
Yep. The Jinbao's are basically 1:1 with the original with a few "enhancements".
Most of the changes on this set are on bonecrusher. They solidified the push shovel, so you loose the tomahawk feature from the original, but it also holds together much better. They also added a second hinge to his flip down canopy so it hides away a bit better in robot mode.
I wonder what the final price for the full set will be. It's like US$65 for sets of 2, so that's like US$200 for the full set if you buy individually... which is a bit much for me.
Heh, it was the 1:18th Sideswipe thread that I checked first. Then I recalled the KU IH, which I too never picked up. Once I discovered that he was a bastard where his alt mode scaled with nothing else, I lost interest.
Awesome. Thank you. Interesting how much larger he looks in bot mode but not so much in alt.
Which set is this? Sorry if its an obvious question. It doesnt look like NBK. (And where can i purchase it? Links?)
That...! Is a fair point. They were like that on the box but yeah.. man you are bang on. He looks so much better now
bonecrusher's cab has a double hinge for you to push it back further. And swing those two thigh pieces behind for cleaner look.
Has anyone tried KFC hands on these OS KO figures yet?
I believe EmGo316 on YouTube has done so in his reviews of Set A.
I'll add that it was his video review that finally convinced me to buy into the set.
There's also a review from Stanley Chew, who has the original and OS KO versions next to each other for both modes. Personally, I based my choice on how they scale with MP cars though. Their cabins should be able to hold close to the same size figures as the cars seats and these come closest of all Devastators.
How is the quality of this company? Wonder if it is high end quality like Wei Jiang.
It started out with lower quality but as time progress, their OS KO of Gravity Builder quality is extremely good from what I've seen and heard. So almost on par with the original Gravity Builder quality.
That sounds pretty good my friend
No doubt pics looks awesome.
Having owned the original GT, I’d say the quality of JB set A is probably 90% close.
1) Plastic on GT is thicker and has a matt finish to it which is what I prefer (much like MT’s). Though this may be due to it being oversized and the weight of the figure has been taken into consideration.
2) though ratchets have been added to JB, it’s actually worse than GT’s ball joints. Chest, waist, and legs are pretty loose and wobbly due to these ratchets.
I’ll be interested to see what the quality of the rubber tyres are for the remaining sets (there’s only a small portion of them in set A with the trailers) GT rubber tyres feels premium especially on scraper.
How does the JB KO GT look in individual bot mode next to starscream? Got to make sure its not taller.
