Awesome. How'd you do that?

 

One thing I was looking out for was the thighs and whether they'd give me the "too darn skinny" feeling of the CW version. But for whatever reason, their size didn't look out of place. G1 toy Superion had slim thighs too ... anyway, great for me because I don't have to wait for some addon kit or stick odd-looking blasters into the thighs.

One nitpick - the four stupid bumps on the square in the middle of his chest. C'mon guys. A little blank space for an Autobot logo please?

 

Rotate it? Lol that should be pretty easy in any image editing program. Specifically, I opened it in a free program called paint.net, told it to rotate clockwise 90 degrees, and saved it back out. Easy peasy!

 

Always been the intent for the CW Superion figure, AFAIK. Kind of bugged me that the G2 set had these guns... but they mismatch color-wise because......? Don't recall ports inside the thighs though.

 

You guys with your thickeners. Geez.

 

Does anyone know if the combiner hands/feet are multi-purpose? Like the Perfect Effect CW sets.

 

From all the pics we've seen they are only a hand or foot. Don't look like they turn into anything else.

Fair enough! G1 toy Superion had these bumpity raised bits on the left and right of the upper chest that sorta lent themselves to being like an area for the faction symbol though ... for this guy, the middle square just seems like a more natural and obvious fit for the logo. And if we're keeping things (toy) accurate, the middle square should be stickered up too  

 

I'm very excited to see Silverbolt. Though we can kind of guess what he'll be like, the devil's in the details. Devil in this case referring to my caving willpower.

 

Going to have to paint his shoulder wings white...

I can't help it but the Zeta Aerialbots won't do it for me. They almost look like upscaled Uranos 2.0 figures. Been there, don't want to go through that again. Since I'm not that interested in combined mode and want to display all 5 bots these guys are starting to get more and more interesting. Size looks great, face sculpts are phenomenal. Only the hollow parts make them look a bit cheap.

 

When's this beastie getting released? He looks great.

 

So, ~$65 + their $4 flat shipping? I too got these loose OS'd figures at TFcon for $35 each. Adding another $70 pushes the price I'd have paid to ~$210. Kinda disappointing that could've gotten ~3 of the OS'd KO CW defensors for the same price. Yeah, yeah, yeah, the extra cost I paid could, in part, be counted towards the extra time in hand prior to wider release; but the fact the BBTS listing doesn't state silverbolt including the hands & feet is another concern.



Looks like I'll be on the lookout for China sellers offering this & try to combine it with an eBay flash sale.

 

These limb aerialbots are taller than MP cars. If I recall correctly, to the top of the heads, the MP Datsun/fairlady streaks are ~6.25" and the MP countach lambors are in the 6.25-6.5" range. These limb aerialbots are ~7.5" to the top of their heads. I'd say they're significantly taller, but it's all perspective I suppose. MP28 hot rod might be 7.25" to the top of his head. So, if you meant that specific MP car in bot height, then okay.

I think this superion will be in scale with the CW/UW Devy, JB OS'd briticus & OS'd feral rex/predaking. Zeta's superion is probably going to be in scale with their/'toyworld's devy/constructor.

If you want some additional 'larger' autobot combiners, you could add the OS'd throttlebots to your list as they're slightly taller than CW/UW devastator.

 

Would this be close to the same combined mode size as TFM Menasor?

Can't tell from pics and didn't see an overall height for Superion... at least not the on the pages of this thread that I read.

 

On Taobao it's listed as approx 45cm. Found 2 sellers with pre orders so far, no indication on final price though.

 

18 inches to the top of the head in combined mode.
