Agree. I had an original takara and bought the KO as well out of curiosity and based on the positive comments in this thread.

To be honest, I'm disappointed in the KO (or maybe myself.. lol).

The original was MUCH better. Tighter joints, no paint issues, no chrome issues, pretty perfect.

I find the KO copy I got to be looser, paint blemishes, softer mold details, and just kinda crappier in general. I guess that's to be expected - and well, shame on me for double dipping. It was that extra inclusion of a KO matrix that did it! I find my KO chest doesn't line up and close as nicely. Chrome was fine though...

I since sold my original but am thinking of rebuying (but also waiting a bit to see what the FT Hoodlum is going to be like).

One of my rub deals suppliers has indicated that he has access to some 'leaked MP28' factory figures that are supposed to have the same QC as Takara but the windows are clear instead of blue or something. I dunno, I didn't bother with it as just sounds too odd/fishy. Probably just another KO run.

Those leaked ones with clear windows (not actually clear just a very light blue tint) are from before the MP figure was officially released. Myself and others here were able to get it about 2-3 weeks before the official release.

I also bought the regular release when that came out and found the quality of that one to be much higher than the leaked one. The leaked one had sloppy paint and parts that didn't fit together as well.

I still have it if anyone wants a "clear" window rodimus.

It's barely noticeable in person. At $35 it is a better value than the official IMO. The chrome application on the KO is much better.

 

I wouldnt touch the offical with a 10 foot pole. Seriously though if i touch it the chrome deteriorates like my mp27.

But im gonna get a liquid chrome pen for my mp27 to see if it works for him.

Yea, hopefully by sanding, or using isopropyl alcohol ill remove the chrome and go over it again.

And for what it's worth, my KO had a straight spoiler, can roll when transformed, can grip his weapon, and has no paint blemish on his chest/hood. All of these are improvements on my original. It's a roll of the dice either way, this roll is cheaper.

 

I picked up the KO to replace the chrome on my official. The reprolabel set has tire treads that help with the clearance issue.
The only thing on the KO that impressed me was the chrome... the rest is scrap.

 

Oh and the chrome pens are great...just make sure you let the first coat completely dry before adding any more. It will get streaky and clump up...just do a little at a time.
