I.e. The huge amount of leftover TT couldn't sell.

So they added rubber tires to sell it then as a ko? Just for this reason I don't think this is a leftover!

    No.

The most likely cause is Takara's factory workers stealing/selling the plans or mold to KO'ers, who then tweaked it to their own liking and released it under their own brand name. Chris Sterett confirmed this kind of thing happens all the time.

It happened under Takara's nose, I imagine, but without their consent.

Nope. This is a KO. Apparently it got the same Takasa rubber tire KO treatment as KO MP Tracks.

Sorry to bump this thread given it's a few weeks old, but I knew I forgot about something. I was waiting for this ever since I heard it came with the flight stand, though it's a shame the robot mode doesn't tab or hold as well as the official. Still, the vehicle mode looks great. I've always wanted to get some of these MP KOs because the officials are so much more expensive, (especially Bumblebee and Wheeljack Goddamn) though in this case you can get the official one for just as cheap.

Still, pretty great alt mode. Perfect for display.

I've watched a lot of reviews for some of these MP KOs, and they seem to be around TT/Hasbro quality with some exceptions. The only MP KO I own is two Ratbats, which were eh-quality in different ways. What's the general census on these KOs for someone largely un-initiated like me? I'm specifically interested in Wheeljack, Bumblebee, and Red Alert, though I know even the official Lambo moulds can be pretty disappointing quality-wise.

Wheeljack and Bumblebee have almost no issues. Only one for WJ is that his gun doesn't tab underneath the car, but you can fix that easily enough if you want it.

The Lambo mold is ok, but not as good as the molds after like Prowl/WJ/BB. The Lambo mold takes some work sometimes to get things to tab in (especially the abdomen), but other than that, I've heard the paint is pretty good on them compared to real ones.

I forgot about this thing and really want to get a Road Rage eventually. Are the reports that the Tracks/ Road Rage KO better quality true? Or is it just people's fascination with rubber tires speaking?

The ko lambo guys are great. Yes you need to shave off a bit of plastic on the spine joint and the chest tab...but after that...they are great.

I did have a chunk of plastic near both red alerts and sideswipes right eye...that needed to be removed. But looks perfect now.

Thanks for the replies! I just have one question about TF-Direct if anyone knows, but how do I know what individual items weigh? (the cheapest shipping says eahc item can't weigh over 2kg)

From that video, it seems the alt mode quality is indeed better if only for the flush hood. The tires are, according to RPA's video above, more like PVC than rubber. However, my official Road Rage pegs together rock solid, while his apparently didn't peg at the torso or one of the ankles very well.

I haven't experienced any issues. The KO Corvettes have improvements like the hood lays flush with the rest of the front end. Tires on the KO are rubber (or rubber like) instead of plastic. KO Road Rage also comes with a flight stand unlike the official version.

I meant the problems of the officials. All I know about the KO is that the itty bitty gunny thing that attaches in the front of the car has a tendency to be launched at ballistic speeds when detached and that the Autobot symbol is one of those that are 'filled'.

EDIT: Did you upgrade her hands to KFC? Do they fit?

For what I've experienced and the feedback I've observed, the problems seem to have been corrected.
I got the KFC hands for KO Road Rage and they fit fine.

Oh boy, you just relieved my wallet a bit. I was worried about the hand business after the work I had to do with the MP10 KO.
