You might be able to hunt down a translucent red Megatron gun easily on Ebay. Those eyes will have to be a better, brighter glossier red. I'll be doing that with my Takara MP10B eyes once it arrives.

Too bad Nonneff no longer makes and sells red MP soundwave eyes.

 

I think a little bit of paint with help the eyes definitely !! But apparently the official MP10B has the exact problem as well !! I was chatting about it in another thread. And they showed some pics showing that it was the same dark eye syndrome.

Ok, just checked eBay and the red translucent megs is too expensive weighing in at $35 AUD. Too much for a megs gun.

 

Yep just like Takara's MP10; I had to dissasemble the head, remove the eyes and paint them with a Sharpie paint pen. It did the trick.

 

I am really dissapointed right now. All the THF KOs are having simplified detail and it appears the robot hero one is going to be taller than mp10....Screw this.

I fear I might end up getting one of the regular KOs or even a legit Soundwave.

At that price why not just spend an extra few bucks and get a legit Soundwave or Soundblaster that will without a doubt have better QC?

 

There is no KO with 'a few bucks) difference than the original. Most of the deals of the KOs vs the Original are litteraly a 50$+ gain (perhaps more) depending on the brand and inventory. As to the QC, we have to specify which KO.

 

I just got a THF Shadow Wave and he's pretty good.

Tiny niggles would be the tolerances on the new back piece are so tight it wont unfold with out risking snapping it. also Ratbat won't sit on his arm only on his shoulder - the gun gets stuck easily too during Transformation. his eyes are a bit dark.

On the plus side the paint is brilliant the joints are all perfect he lines up in the pannels all pretty well the only exception to that being the pannels with the buttons on that sits a bit funny. The chest cover is a perfect fit. and the nice thing about the no logo on the chest is I can put a sticker of my chosen type on the purple piece and still use the red part as a teck spec reader or for disguise purposes.

The ratbat is quite nice too the engines are straight he's very tight jointed so much so that he's a little scary to transform - but he does transform. The lack of the logo isn't an issue as it give you the option to put something else on there like an ultracons logo. and the only slight meh is he doesn't have any text saying metal postion etc...

But this is a good mould and if they want to repaint it in to Shattered Glass deco i'd buy it with bells on.
I think there is some sort of clear version (unless someone was parts swapping with a year of the Goat wave)- but I have not actually seen it for sale.

His eyes are a little dark and his neck is a little loose on the up and down pivot but - that is easily fixed.

Overall I'm very satisfied. I look forward to some more obscure colour options - heck I'd love to see a Korean style red one too. Gold might be nice too. Also a purplish Blue might be an option too since he was sometimes drawn in some other shades of blue.

But a white one is what I'm really hoping for.

I never understood the "few bucks more for the official" argument here. The KOs are significantly cheaper, even cheaper via Ebay or Taobao.

Regarding THF KO, has it been confirmed that it actually will be taller than MP10?? We'll need to wait till it drops or someone gets their hands on one to confirm. Plus it wouldn't make sense to make it bigger outside of it being an intentional OS version.

 

Feeling rather annoyed. I'm told the Robot Heroes wouldn't be OS and that it'd be out late August/Early September, which means that it should ship and get here before I leave for a five week business trip. So I go ahead and tell @rubadubspawn to put me down for one. I get an invoice from Show.Z a few weeks later, which AFAIK means it's about to ship, so I promptly pay it. Now, a month after I pay, I'm hearing stories about how it's not coming until November and it's going to be OS? Not cool. Starting to wish I'd have just got the THF one.

 

Widespread environmental inspections by the Chinese Govt saw a lot of factories (RH included) close their doors for 2-4 weeks recently. Try not to feel upset   It's not far away.

 

Yeah, but if that's the case, I think RH should have communicated that with their vendors, and that knowledge should have trickled down until I got an email from Show.Z with at least a courtesty, "hey, this thing you paid for has been delayed."

When it does ship, sounds like I might be out of the country when it gets here now.

I'd also be a lot happier knowing that the not-OS Soundwave I paid for was definitely not OS.

 

Neither do I. Even if we take the TF direct which has them around the 100$ mark shipped, they still have a severe difference from buying an original and its cassetes.

I am confused as well. IDK what they are doing or thinking. If the rumor mill about it been larger than Mp10 is true, for me is a huge fail (OFC others might be happy about it).If its not then we are on the right track. But why they are not wrapping things and allow such rumors to move about is beyond me.

 

The Reximus Prime i recently bought was listed as 25cm tall, despite being 30. I'm skeptical about this rumor of RH being oversized until I see actual pictures.

 

It seems like it's not impossible but might require a lot of tweaks to downsize an MP Soundwave and yet keep the standard cassettes even if it only takes 2 of them instead of more.think if they tried to make him really small it might compromise the design. I can see it working if heas about the same size as the overscale G1 KO though. say 8" inches. If they tried to shrink him a lot more than that you tend to end up with a very wide robot as with the BTS Sonicron. I suppose another way to approach it is to include a removable chest that takes a specialist MP3 player or a casette pay and engineer working speakers into the legs but that might require a lot of simplification due to the joints issues.

But then the Mega Steel Blaster is around that sort of Voyager size and he's able to take cassettes too. so I do hold out some hope for a slightly smaller Soundwave sometime. I'm interested to see how a bigger one would work too - the Bigger cassettes might be an appealing idea in their own right is there was an MPP style one.

 

I wouldn't get worried. I'm pretty sure it will be the same size as the official Takara version.
