I have the hasbro. It has die cast feet.

When I checked tf-direct.com, I saw two entries for ko sw. One showed laserbeak and the other showed all six. Pretty sure the one with just laserbeak was an error.

Those were my thoughts as well. Kind of sucks. It was nice having something "rare".

 

I mean I guess so but if the only thing that makes something desirable is that other people can't have it, that's kind of... I dunno... mean. I mean I guess that makes it valuable but I would argue that it's silly to place value in these kinds of things. I for one was just happy that I managed to snag Soundwave when he came to TRU because I wanted a nice Soundwave. The fact that other people couldn't have him didn't sweeten the deal or anything. In fact it actually pisses me off because it means that, if I wanted one, I had to go through the extra hassle to make sure I got it before anybody else did. Add to that the fact that it encourages bastard scalpers to snatch them all up and hoard them.

I say bring on the rereleases and KOs: everybody deserves a chance to get one of the best transformers ever made.

Well, the original won't (or shouldn't) lose value.. for the same reason an original 1984 Devastator is worth more than any re-release or KO...

So basically there are 3 iterations of Masterpiece Soundwave on the way.
1. This KO with 6 tapes (including Ratbat)
2. Official Takara MP-13 Soundwave reissue with Laserbeak (2nd or 3rd reissue at this point).
3. Official Hasbro Masterpiece Soundwave reissue with 5 tapes (yellow eyes instead of red and 5 tapes instead of 6....no Ratbat)

Well. There we have it. I cancelled my preorder for the official. Why pay more for it when you don't have to. Hastak is charging too much imo and this is the perfect way to tell them that.

 

logic is kind of flawed since originals have been selling for a lot less since the reissue has been announced.

 

we pay more for quality, paint quality..build quality.. but as this KO times,..its the other way around..sadly originals sometimes bear flaws and the KOs improves them, fixes the flaws. In my case, i dont buy KO (even if its good on pics)..i wait for actual onhand reviews first before i decide to buy it.

 

Me personally, it's not just about this one figure. It's about me not liking where TT has taken the direction of the line. If they had done this reissue 6 months ago, I'd have had it by now. I couldn't stand the inflated scalper prices either lol.

There was a time a few years back when I considered Masterpiece Transformers as a sort of investment. But now there's no way in hell to get your money back out of them. So in that regard too, I would rather have a ko. I will enjoy it more, knowing I didn't get hosed on the cost. And once this one is on the shelf, there aren't any TT Transformers that I even like anyways. It's 3P from here on in. Takara isn't doing it for me and I refuse to throw any more $ at them

 

The videos I've seen replacing that have left his head a little floppy. It looks too easy to screw up for my skill level.
