I got one of those 4.99 Big Lots! Lio Convoy KOs, and seeing as how he was molded in yellow, gray, and ugly, I decided to try painting him. This is the first big thing I've ever painted, so please be gentle.

I used metallic red and gloss white spray paints, and blue, silver, and gold paint markers. Almost every surface has been redone. He's very glossy, all the white spots in the pics are glare from the lights. He turned out pretty sweet, except the spraypaint I used is flaking off badly at the joints. No way to prevent that, I guess, except for not transforming him. I should have roughed up the flat surfaces so the paint would stick better, but I was too anxious to get him done. What do you think? Here's what he looked like originally..

I really like the head. I'm sure the rest looks great but it looks dark in the pics. Good job though man!

I like what you did with that. I have that KO (in fact it was the last KO I will ever purchace) and it is ugly. The repaint is awesome. Heck I might try that with mine.

Actually, using Krylon Fusion spray paint fixes it quite nicely. It somehow actually bonds to the plastic so it doesnt' just coat it and flake off.

    Looks really good though.

Thanks guys, I'll remember that about the krylon paint. If the flaking gets bad enough, I'll redo the white parts or just get another to do. Practice makes perfect!

Shit, is that what it looks like? I just got mine, and I haven't opened it yet.

Looks like I'll be breaking out the paints myself.
