I've emailed TFW2005's sponsor "Big Bad Toy Store" months ago about a KO of G1 Landcross that they have listed. They have it listed as an authentic Boxed set with a $290.00 pricetag. They have yet to fix it. I'm worried that some poor soul will end up shelling out a month's rent on something they think to be genuine. Does someone here know the guys at BBTS or any other way to contact them, because apparently my email went unnoticed. C-319 Landcross - Transformers G1 - Japanese Cybertrons at BigBadToyStore If anyone can prove to me that there was a white/purple checkered Mach released by takara and that this is infact genuine/rare/whatever, then please assist with more information, because I can't find anything on a Landcross of these colors.
I noticed this also, in the past they have listed a mib japanese double clouder and it turned out to be a us double dealer in a double clouder box.
Wow...I'd have expected better from BBTS. However, it could be a bit of humor on their end too. Have you read any of the descriptions for some of the figures and accessories? Like the Justitoys trailer for Masterpiece Convoy/20th. Optimus... Masterpiece Optimus Prime Trailer - 2nd Edition - Transformers Masterpiece Masterpiece at BigBadToyStore With that kind of humor throughout most of their older item descriptions...I wouldn't put it past them to sell the real deal, but post a KO pic instead. Or, it could be this: The entire operation is run by human beings, prone to mistakes at times, and they just flubbed up. As you can see, no one's made a sale here, and I doubt they will. Though, it's pretty cool that there are some folks in the fandom who still care enough to make sure someone else doesn't get screwed by a fake.
I know that all 6 bots that make up landcross were re-released individually by takara several years ago. I bought them new at a Wizard-world convention in phila several years back. I don't remember if they made a re-issue box set or not.
Nope, this is the same thing as I explained they have a vintage box and stick something elese in it and sell it as the original.
now I never said my rent was that much, I just assumed that alot of us our age would live in apartments or lower-income parts of town considering alot of us are single and spend alot of our money on toys. I however pay $1,300 monthly. As far as BBTS being human, yes, I didn't say that they are not, but the mistake was made, and they were even emailed about it. I would've thought that someone contacting them would've at least made them check into it a little.
BBTS is not perfect. Some time ago (they have probably since corrected it) for the Soul of Chogokin Reideen, they were (apparently) blatantly ripping off this site by using their rendered pictures: ?????
Hi, I pulled it from the listing and we will relook it over and relist as a knockoff if it is. Can anyone post or send me info on what parts of it you think are knockoffs? The guys who list our items say they are not knockoffs and the plastic has the real feel (not that cheap knockoff feel) and they are all stamped takara. James - BBTS Vintage Department
...you're kidding, right? The entire thing is so ridiculously off-model that it's absolutely either a heretofore undiscovered Crayola Mutant or a knockoff...Hell, these days even the bootleggers get the colors right. The Purple and white checkerboard Mach should have been the FIRST clue. Compare your photos to this: Landcross (1989) - Cybertron Multi Gestalt Warrior - www.tfu.info Also: Pretty much every G1 bootleg I own still has the Takara/Hasbro stamps on them, since it would be pretty stupid to bother changing a mold when you're trying to replicate it exactly... check any of your KO cassette tapes. That said, it's a neat KO as far as those go, just...definitely not an original.
^^ Except for the 5 or 6 different KOs that I've either seen in person or in pictures, absolutely none, indeed.
