A nice throwback to the Lunch Time Specials that used to come out when Prime was first reissued back in 2000.
I only saw the clear Mirage for sale on his site. Neither are in the KO Transformer section. I was actually referring to the colored Mirage being sold somewhere besides eBay.
A nice idea but I gotta say I don't really care for the clear tires. I know, if Mirage is invisible then the tires ought to be too but I just can't get past how cheap they look. I think black tires look great on BT Clear Mirage and this version would beneft from same. It gives it that transitioning to invisible look, which I prefer, rather than the full blown invsible look which is a bit silly cause you can see the toy anyway, clear tires or not. I think it would look really sweet if they gave the clear toys one of two things-- either a tint that refects it's true colour, like a translucent blue in this case or, some sort of grid pattern (a la Megatron becoming Galvatron in the movie) as if the character just scanned and is adopting a new body and alt mode.
My preference bolded there. A very light translucent blue, much lighter than Botcon Mirage's blue. But I like clear too and will probably get one of these.
Huh. Strangely, I think this is awesome, though I have little to no interest in the KO of the Mirage with actual color.
Nice! Normally I'd try to avoid these KO's, but this one would be an exception. It would be a nice counterpoint to the Classics, Binaltech, and Robot Heroes versions. Geez, listing those out just made me realize. "Clear Mirage" is becoming the new "Prime as Magnus" or "Bumblebee as Cliffjumper."
They are also making a clear Warpath, and a gold chrome Optimus Prime. Rumor was a long time ago they were making a clear colored plastic prime. Don't know what happened with that. I have been pounding on them to make the Red Mirage and Marlboro Wheeljack.
