I have my kitty co-coa and she has lived with me my entire and life and before we moved we lived near woods and now that we moved my backyard is a golf course and in said golf course there is fox and last night I heard it brutally kill an animal and now I'm worried for my poor little kitty since she has been an outdoor cat her entire life. Is there anything I can do?

If you're really worried, don't let your cat out. My wife's cat was an outdoor cat its entire life, and when we moved into our newest house, it couldn't go out because we were right near a busy street. Eventually the cat learned to be an indoor cat. Just don't let it out, no matter how much it cries or begs you to, and eventually it'll adjust to be indoors. It might pain you to see, but your kitty's life is too precious to have anything happen to it!

We have opossums and racoons and cat-eating hawks and lord knows what else but I still let my cat out. though the other night i did have to rescue her from a mystery animal at 3 in the morning. all depends on if you have faith in your cat's fighting ability, mine can kick serious ass.

You have a female cat, they're alot smarter about staying out of trouble than male cats are. Don't think the fox could probably catch it.

A male cat would probably go fight it, then lick his own balls like a champ

First of all, killing the fox makes you heartless. Supposing the fox was your pet, and you were afraid of the cat? The fox is just doing what foxes do, there's no reason to kill it because of that.

Anyway, if you are so afraid of this monstrous fox running around outside, maybe you should, gee, I dunno, keep your cat in? Seeing your cat struggle to adjust to her surroundings is sure as shit better than seeing her dead corpse in the woods, no?

Agreed. Keep her inside! I used to live near a golf course too but out here we have coyotes. Once, one walked right up to my window and had a staring contest with my cat. And like a boy cat does, he tried to fight it through the window.

keep the kitty inside , but i have to ask how large is your cat , i ask because if its onthe large side a Fox would be less likely to go after it as they usally hunt rodents and rabbits so aslong as your cat is a good bit bigger than a rabbit and hasn't been declawed it might be safe

Buy a Rottweiler. Big badass dog such as that will have that fox for dinner.

Also, not sure what color your cat is, but if she's white, definitely keep her inside.

She won't like it at first, but you can also compromise here. Buy a cat harness and occasionally take her out on a leash. She will HATE the harness for quite awhile, but most will eventually get used to it after long enough, and at least she'll get to go outside.

DON'T do this. You should never buy another animal to kill another animal.

I echo the statements, keep you cat indoors. All my cats are indoor cats and they're all perfectly happy.

I have a way to keep your cat as an outdoor cat AND keep the fox away.

Buy a BBgun, and then sit quietly outside of your house. When you see the fox come around give him a good shot in the rump. Fox gets some bruises and wont come back.

Some people do this with squirrels(I like having these guys in my yard though) and they live through it, so I imagine the fox would be just fine.

Just please, please don't shoot your cat on accident... =P

And if you had a dish of cat food outside, bring that in. Racoons fight cats too and they like easy meals like a supper dish.

You could contact your local government Wildlife Services division, and borrow a trap (not a violent trap) to trap the fox if it causes you trouble. They deal with foxes, and if you're determined to keep putting your kitty outside than you could do that.

But I highly recommend keeping it indoors, every out door cat I've had has had something happen to it.

I misread "I have my kitty co-coa", as "I gave my kitty coca-cola".

    Well there's your problem.

    She's black
We gave her a collar before, she was able to get it off and barry it in the lawn... I haven't seen it since
My grampa when he owned the house use to go outside with a bb gun and shoot the rodent that would dig holes in the lawn :lol
Don't worry about that, my mom's a neat freak and would never allow that
I live in the kenton area of NY, my local government sucks.
