Cute pictures of them (both the kitties and the marines) can be found from the source: Unique Scoop: Kitties Rescued by US Marine Soldiers in Afghanistan

    D'aaaww...

Sorry to hear that two of them unfortunately died due to illness, but it is nice to hear that soldiers are rescuing animals in the midst of conflict and finding them new homes.

I'm wondering how many of them got Article 92 punishment for it. Most deployed commanders have strict rules about local wildlife. You're not supposed to even touch them. When I was in Kyrgyzstan, we had a cat come into our CWDE tents, it would just plop down wherever, and because we couldn't touch it, we couldn't get rid of it. It also showed no fear since no one was a threat. It was a little cutie, almost our mascot...till entomology had to come and take it away...

I'm betting they got one of those "Stern talks". But there have been so many strays over there that need someone to take care of them, and the soldiers over there are grateful for anything to brighten thier day, that I willing to wager most commanders turn a somewhat blind eye to it. A puppy or kitten or two shouldnt be a problem, so long as the base doesnt become an animal shelter. Besides....did you see how CUTE those kitties were!

ohohohoho i saw a video once and now im an expert on how soldiers behave

Dude, there's essentially no difference between the behavior of Marines and soldiers when it comes to animals, a single high-profile YouTube clip notwithstanding. If you made the same sort of ridiculous comment about blacks or women based on the same specious evidence, you'd be racist or misogynist. But there isn't a fancy word for being ignorant about soldiers.

Probably about as many as get punished for violating General Order #1's prohibition on porn. In my experience, if it wasn't an issue, leadership didn't make it one.
