Let's make this fair. No transforming into bot form and throwing KITT around like a matchbox car. As far as I know that with the numerous abilities that the TFs have they are still limited on their horsepower. Don't get me wrong, I am a lifelong TF fan, but I think that KITT would actually smoke some of their @$$es in a race. Short or long track or whatever it is. Some or all of you may not agree. That's why I put this post here.

Who would win ? Which version of KITT ? yada yada. You know what to say.

With TF developing alt modes and technology for millions of years, I think there's no way they could be outrunned by an earth vehicle.

The new KITT is sweet, though he reminds me more of TF 07 Movie's Barricade... sorry, I'm going to have to say that the TFs would never let an AI-controlled, non-transforming Earth sports car beat the living spark out of them.

Well Overdrive can do 200, and Tracks can do 280, so most G1 sports cars would put KITT in their rearview and that would be that. But some on the other hand like hound, hoist and inferno, were slower, so it'd be hard to say for sure.

Movie versions, I have no idea, Jazz (RIP) Bumblebee or barricade might win, but i'd doubt about ironhide, ratchet or even prime.
We'd need better tech specs for the movie guys to know for sure.
BTW, what was KITT's top speed supposed to be anyway? With turbo boost?

Considering that G1 Wheeljack was supposed to be stupidly fast and be able to pull off moves that human stunt drivers had never dreamt of, I have to go with TFs.

Decepticon involvement could affect the outcome, though.

TF's would outrun KITT any day.

In Super Pursuit Mode KITT could easily surpass 300+ mph

The 2008 KITT is probably faster without Super Pursuit Mode.

KITT would give 'em a good run for their money if not beat them.

    Not really fair comparison.

As far as the two KITT's I would go 82 just because I'm biased like that.

Depends totally on the situation, but I'd say that any Autobot with a comparable alt-mode (so ruling out Hoist, Grapple, Gears, etc.) would win a race in any sort of real-life conditions--traffic, obstacles, real turns, etc.

In a straightforward race, short or long track, there's probably a few he could beat. But I suspect most would smoke him.

I sepends, I think that the oringonal K.I.T.T. would be able to beat most of if not all of the autobots with Super Prisut mode.

Keep in mind KITT is limited by it being an earth car, and having the limitations of such.

Transformers only LOOK like earth cars. just because their alternate forms resemble a certain car, doesnt mean that their abilities in that mode are limited to what the actual car can do.

The TFs could probably do some awesome stunts in their alt modes. But what is it that they can do that would make KITT shred some of his ego ?

Also keep in mind both KITTs are in play here. 2008 KITT basically has a regenerative body - as noted in the technical specs - similar to cybertronian metal.

Knight Rider FTW!!!!!! Kitt can go like 200mph, and he's an awsome car too. Based on those two alone, he'll win. :D

I'd say neither one of them would be able to keep up with Automan's car, "Cursor".

Considering it says the Knight Industries Three Thousand only has 550 HP. I would say Blurr could smoke it. As for the new KR. Check wikipedia here.

By the way KITT looked in the movie. I think some of the TF's would be left in the dust.

Didn't know of this TF - KR connection:

In "Trust Doesn't Rust", the voice of KARR was provided by voice actor Peter Cullen, better known as the voice of Optimus Prime in the The Transformers cartoon series. In "K.I.T.T. vs K.A.R.R.", KARR was voiced by Paul Frees, best known as the voice of Ludwig Von Drake in the popular anthology series, Walt Disney's Wonderful World of Color. Frees was uncredited on-screen for his role, leading Peter Cullen to sometimes be wrongly credited as providing KARR's voice in "K.I.T.T. vs K.A.R.R."
