since he's a Masterpiece, I'd honestly be flabbergasted if he didn't.

I would be pissed, but at this point not surprised, Tomy has so far left a lot to be desired.

exactly! and the special MP-4 Optimus will come with a paper trailer :D

Oh well, at least they let us know a month or so before it is being released. Even though that's not a whole lot of time, it's still better than opening the brown shipping box just to be disappointed. I think Hasbro does a way better job of informing the collectors than Takara-Tomy. My feeling has always been that I don't care if they shit in a box and call it a transformer, I just want to know that it's shit in a box before I buy it!

Hey that's catchy, I think I might make that my signature!

Hasbro Cybertron Voyager on shelf in US = $20
Takara Galaxy Force Voyager online store = $40

Alternator on shelf in US = $20
    Binaltech online store = $55

I've always heard that import costs was the biggest reason for price difference, where actual onshelf prices in Japan were similar to ours. If that's the case, I wouldn't expect Convoy to drop much. The extra accessories ( girl and surfboard ) would add at least $5 to the price. So I can't see online store prices dropping below $45.

    Yes it will.

At least, according to one of the very first pics of MP03 prototype (Figure Oh?). It's written there in katakana: Diecast - ABS ... and then some kanjis. It's in the column next to the price.

That's on the same pic with the 220mm height in bot mode.

    Disappointing. :(

Whether or not you like diecast, I don't see how this is a good development -given its retail price-. Ah well.

I do adore the paint apps, and will try to find one for a decent deal. The nicer colors would warrant maybe an extra $10 or $15 in my eyes.

What's odd to me is the BT Astericks had a pvc figure and were a little cheaper than this BT Convoy, and they were made with some diecast. This is just very dissapointing all around.

I'm glad I'm not the only one. The more I see images of the surfsword, the more I want one. At this price range, I'm not going to get the set now, but if Transrepro or some other place makes replicas of the sword, I'm buying a bunch of them. *Thinks about Alt. Nemesis Prime with twin surfswords*...

Most import stores buy the toys at wholesale, the Japanese price for Binaltechs was usually a little under $40.00. IIRC Hasbro said adding diecast to Alts would add $5.00 to the price. On that basis, it seems we were being exploited to begin with.

If it's in Hyper Hobby, you can pretty much take it as fact.
