Seconds ago, I caught my 2 year-old daughter standing up... on the MGT-01 Delicate Warrior box I got today!!! Eeeeeeek!! Sure enough the box collapsed. Thank God the figure was on the table...

I feel for you, my son is 11 months old. Since he was about 5 months I show him my tfs and tell him they aren't to be touched. As silly as that sounds we do it everyday so I can imprint it in his head don't touch these are dads toys. I know he doesn't undrstand but you can neer start to early...lol

As ironic as this sounds, keep the toys where your kids can't get at them.

Oh god, when I was a kid, I went over to my cousin's house and he had a lot of transformers, which he made into more by smashing them into a million little pieces. Mind you, I'm only 3 years older than him but I was appalled at the destruction he wrought upon Unicron and others.

Why did you leave the box on the floor with a small child in the house?

She's 2 dude, she walks, she runs, she jumps, she CLIMBS. There's nothing to stop her. The box was on my desk next to this computer.

This is why my office always locked with heavily armed five security guards just to keep my kids away from my collections. You think Bin Laden is bad, than you haven't seen my kids yet. :D

Which is all the more reason to keep it out of her reach....thanksfully it was just a destroyed box. She could've grabbed the toy, put a piece in her mouth and choked.

Nah, she's never put anything in her mouth but a pacifier and occasionally her toes since she was born. No thumbs, no dolls, no wooden blocks, nothing. True story. And I do have a dedicated room for my toys. This one I got today and wasn't in it yet.

and as a child i would probably think the exact same thing of you. my father is evil for showing me all of these cool toys and then telling me i can't play with them.

but i still understand. i have a child coming in two months and im already trying to childproof my room.

the safest thing to do is spray them with really hot water.

or cold water... yeah, cold water is probably safer.

They understand well enough, you should make a scary face for additional impact!
Seriously though, they do understand. Consistency is the key. Good luck :)

I had nothing expeisive when my kids were young, we shared out TFs. I started getting into more costly, fragile stuff as they got older, but by then I could trust my kids. I let them play with all my TFs except for BTs. And they know better than letting their mates into our toyroom....

.....Then once my older son showed his best friend my Encore Megs (in gun mode) and told him he can't play with it because they might get arrested.

No, she was hanging off the ceiling, obviously. Playing with knives, cisors and matches.

She's 2, she's not stupid. :)  She stretched her arm to grab it on the table, put it on the floor, stood on it.
