None of these ideas went forward past the idea stage.

    http://www.all2005fandomers.com

A website created with every color scheme and logo of all the major Transformers sites (minus Seibertron due to their inability to take jokes from last year). The main poster would be "Aero-Jack" who holds absolutely no relation to anyone else in this community who may be named such a name. He would be the main news poster, his avatar would be Peter Griffin from Family Guy, and every news post would somehow twist itself around and end up talking about food and how hungry he is.

News Announcement of a new IRC channel, #woopee!

Run by the latest TFW2005 staff member, ItsRuny, it's the premiere place for all fan members who believe they are the elite of the elite. The chat room's slogan? "Come make #woopee! with us!"

The frontpage re-directs to Transfandom (I'm the only one who saw the humor in that)

The frontpage re-directs to softcore porn

We nearly did the same thing the AllSpark did, with making a "staff forum" visible. They went the way hard way though, with editting stuff in the database. We were just going to move old threads and edit everything (as admins, our edits do not show up).

Then there were a few others we might try and do for next year. So I won't mention them. But yeah. Sorry if you guys didn't like this April Fool's joke (I have to be honest, I wasn't a huge fan myself, though it was fun to watch some of you freak out and blow up at Nevermore), but next year we'll try to plan better.

After all, it's hard to repeat the success of The Fuzzy World.

Would you guys be able to get away with the one where the frontpage redirected people to softcore porn?

Eh...the one this year was alright albeit a little annoying at first...though I agree, the best part of it was watching everyone get all worked up at an obvious joke :lol

it almost makes me think that Joe Moore's sig and blog entry were planned, to direct attention away from Nm as THENEWGUY

Kinda hard to believe anybody took it seriously. I mean, what about an annoying sod who posts in all (grossly misspelled) caps about MunkyTruk and dancing Soundwave on April Fool's Day could have been more obvious? Twas mildly entertaining, but I just ignored the whole thing....well, that and most of the threads were locked before I could bother. I began to suspect Nevermore when I came across whatever thread he was 'banned' in.

What? So there'll be no ongoing THENEWGUY'S WOLRD forum? Bollocks!

I know some on this site did not like it, but I found humor in it. I knew right away that the NEWGUY was a fake. I first guessed Coldheart/Moore, but was wrong. Then I guessed Nevermore and I was right. I can not wait till next year. It will always be hard to get to the level of the Fuzzy World, though.

I knew it was fake too, but that just added to the "meh" of it, imo

    Laugh Out Freaking Loud.

Does ItsRuny also get to make a sub-par webcomic?

    Woah, waka-waka-waka.

Those are great ideas. On Gen1TF.com I demoted my Assistant Admin without warning and made one of my top posters (who is a 15 year old) an Admin. Pretty funny stuff, especially on AIM with my Assistant Admin... :lol

Nothing will ever, ever beat The Fuzzy World. That's seriously the best prank i've seen on any site.

And I think how tight-assed some people got about THENEWGUY is eve nfunnier then what he did himself.

Since people seems to be comparing this year's prank with The Fuzzy World, here's why I think the latter went down better than the former. (Yes, I'm analyzing humor, what kind of loser am I?)

    - Re-skinning the entire site was somewhat original and took a lot of effort. That kinda set the bar for everyone's expectations this year. Of course, having expectations is our own fault, but nevertheless, creating a new ID for trolling falls quite a bit short of those expectations.

    - Fuzzy was a harmless thing that everyone could join in and have fun with. With THENEWGUY, WE were the butt of the joke. (the proverbial "we", anyways. I figured it was a prank and decided to let things play out quietly) This thought is reinforced by how many people were saying the funny part was the reactions that Nevermore was getting. I wasn't as hurt about it as some other members were, but I was annoyed, and don't particularly care for the kind of humor where people who aren't in on the joke are made to squirm.

So there's my $0.02, I hope next year's stunt is a little more inclusive to everyone, doesn't have to be elaborate as long as it's clever though.
