Well, I just hope it doesn't take itself too seriously. That's what killed the first one for me.

I believe Kick ass is creator owned and published via Marvel. Which is why the first on didn't have a marvel logo

Yeah, it did what it set out to do. It's like giving Beetlejuice a sequel (they're in talks)- what's the point? They already said everything they had to say in the first one.

Must be noticed that the original comic had a sequel [published not so long ago], and the sequel is something of a 21th Century Watchmen [in the "deconstructing superheroes" way, only adapting to our culture and teachings]. Which means, unless the director is a full-blown moron, we'll have one of the best comic book superhero movies of all time.

Yeah.. I wonder if it will have Mother Russia killing children and the chick getting rapped.

The sequel really turned the violence up a notch.

To be honest that doesn't mean it will be better or as good as the first though, especially when moved to a movie format. Comics find it quite easy to move onto a next chapter after a story has been seemingly resolved and get people come back for more without much fuss, but movies tend to have a harder time when doing a sequel, especially when the first one mostly wrapped things up pretty neatly.
Don't get me wrong though, I'll still see it eventually, if only to see how they handle the sequality of moving off from the end of the first movie and where they take it after.

For those who don't know, the comic features a big ass brawl in the middle of the city between a large group of heroes and villains.
