So, what's your definition of kibble? I saw someone on another transformers board say that the Alternators had a lot of kibble, and I really don't see it that way, on most alternators all the car parts fit nicely into the robot mode. To me kibble is something hanging off the robot mode that serves no function, the door hips could almost qualify as kibble to me on the Alt/BT Corvette mold, but they look like they are actually part of the robot in the form or armor, now going back to RID, the Autobot brothers had a lot of what I would consider kibble... I mean, I'm looking at Alt Siverstreak sitting here on my desk at work, and to me he looks kibble free, most everything from the car make a part of the robot, and the parts that aren't being used are neatly folded into the robot, for example the back doors and roof.
I think if any Alt. has "kibble'' it's the corvette mold. Not bad kibble mind-you but the doors and hood/front end are a little obtrusive when trying to pose the figure and such. Thats what my definition of kibble would be is a part of the alt. mode that is obtrusive to movement of the robot mode, the more it gets in the way the more it is considered kibble.
This is my definition of kibble: In all seriousness though, I consider any part of a toy that serves no purpose besides being a hindrance to both posability and aesthetic value to be kibble.
I forgot about the hood... yeah that Corvette mold is kind of kibbley - but the rest of them? Even the Viper's hood butt integrates nicely into the bot mode, if anything the front bumbers on the Vipers are kibble, but still, I wouldn't call that a lot of kibble.
kibble may add to the toys aesthetic but doesnt serve the alt mode functionally. sideswipes skirt. tracks skirt (the shoulder launchers are a good way of making kibble functional). prime's shoulder pads. off the top of my head.
Most peoples definition of kibble; "Hmn, that looks like ass, kibble!" I dont think the Autobot Bros. are kibbly at all. I think Alt Ravage and Tracks are Kibble tastic and ass. See?
Corvette mode definitely has the most kibble of the alternators, followed by Skids' car roof backpack.
Yep, I always thought Kibble was some kind of dog food until I read about TF fans complaining about it. Anywho, kibble (in any sense) never bothered me about Transformers. Extra parts? A good engineer always has extra parts! As a TF fan I've accepted "Bricks", Ugly Zombie Beasts, Shells (as in Pretenders), non-Transformations (Action Masters) and some fairly mindless gimmicks over the years. So what's a little kibble?
I use the word sometimes but I'm quite easy on kibbles. I don't consider RiD Car Bros have lots of kibbles. The shells of the vehicle do get in the way, but I still think they look kind of like armours. I don't mind Sideburn having "wings" Big Convoy looks better because of the mammoth shells around his legs. I think they add bulk to him. The kibbley (pardon me if it's not a word) TFs I am not very happy with are Break (don't know what to do with kibbles) and Thunderblast (not exactly a TF IMO, she's a bot in a shell), there might be others but I can't think of any.
I guess the Penguin parts looked better in animation. He looks good even considering all his Techorganics. A very good example of a "Kibblebot".
