This little fella showed up yesterday. Quite a nice little figure. There's pics of packaging n stuff in the 3rd Party Thread so I'm sticking to the toy...

Nice paint apps with a few minor smudges that aren't that noticeable. The cassette ribbon is a nice touch.







Good joints with the exception of the tail. Mine likes to pop off or hang funny on occasion. Nice articulation in the head n neck, legs n feet aren't bad. The joints in Rhino mode are pretty good on mine. Don't see him doing the splits unless you want him too.  





He is a bit thicker than G1 and MP cassettes. I wouldn't risk putting him in any G1 Soundwaves or Blasters. The MP Soundwave will hold him fine but you won't get two more tapes in there with him.

In regards to fitting into an original G1 Soundwave. I tried this morning. It's a confirmed "no". He's too thick. The small hook inside Soundwave that is connected to the door blocks him from sliding in any further.  

 

So he should probably fit in the Twincast mold by himself?

Did you add the faction symbol on his head?

 

If Twincast is extra deep like Soundblaster, then he might.

The eyes look a bit odd, wonder why they didn't go with all red. He looks a little like Rudolph looking at his nose.

How does his rhino mode compare the the other cassettes, size wise?

 

So he's thicker than G1? That's ... kinda disconcerting. There's some wiggle room in G1 Soundwave, though, so he might fit, albeit snugly.

 

I'll take a group shot of him with my other cassettes tonight.

My Soundwave is an original from 1984, so I didn't want to risk cracking anything, so I haven't actually tried it.

The crossed eyes look weird

 

Classics Ravage has a tough time fitting in Label Blaster thanks to his tail. So this may not fully fit.

 

Looks cool, but I don't like the red part of the eyes. It does look weird. I wish they'd left it all silver or all red.

Look nice with the other tapes. I have him in my pile of loot at BBTS, but if he doesn't fit inside G1 Blaster or Soundwave I'm annoyed.

Could you try putting him into G1 Soundwave? Not to force him if he doesn't fit, but there's no harm in seeing if he slides in easily is there?

Lame. I hope KFC's other offerings actually manage to function with Soundwave and Blaster.

 

painted his eyes and small horn silver. not sure about the eyes, may go red. but the small horn stands out better.

 

In, fairness IIRC, some of the later official G1 tapes had some clearance issues on a single-deck Soundwave, KFC is not alone in erring non the side of Soundblaster and Twincast.

From what I'm told the Rhinohorn and Ironpaw tapes are extra thick, as they are copies of the Eagle's TF tapes, and that's how Eagle designed them. They do not fit in '84 Soundwave, '85 Blaster or the BTS Sonicron.

The NEW mold combiner tapes that KFC making next will fit in normal 1984 Soundwave, 1985 Blaster and Sonicron.

 

Does it fit inside Device Label Blaster?

 

I wouldn't have thought so as DL Blaster was designed with housing G1 cassettes in mind. If Classics Ravage won't fit due to the tail, I doubt this fella will.
