Well. there really isn't a place to put these pics, and Liger wanted me to post them.. so here's to a thread that will probably get buried very quickly These pictures are from the anime series Keroro Gunso.. which is really not much about thinking.. It's sorta like Invader Zim in story but with less thinking involved: I was going to type about the story, but I figured google would do it best: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sgt._Frog Anyway, these particular toys come from a line called Chibic. Probably named so because they're small.. because Chibi = small (roughly?) Anyway.. Here are the pics of Chibic Keroro "My Room" set Box: Packaged Contents:
Fridge and Accessories: Don't get sucked into the secret base! Computer: (got lazy and added the back of the fridge in this pic) Room All Set Up: Items that did not get individual pics: Keroro, Lounge Chair, Lounge Table, Manga Book, Drink w/ lemon
Detailed shots The whole platoon! Food accessories Spider looking thing: Okinomiyaki (Jpn Pizza) Special of the Frog Aliens! Model Kit tools (Yes, that's an airbrush ) Model Kits: boxes come like that (they've got some weight to them) stickers applied to boxes Comes with a stand for the boxes!
I'm glad I took that pic. Just posted it right above your post. I would say they're small, but at a very happy level. The figures stand at about 4.45cm
ranoobu - the sets you got are pretty sweet! The mini Gunpla are really INSANE - especially the shelves and boxes! LOL! I almost bought the 2nd set you posted - the one with the min Gunpla but I decided to go for the "regular" versions. See the pix below! The other one I got are the model kits of the frogs which I feel aren't really that good. But this mini base is my fave! LOL!
Kewl! I'm not the only contributer! Quinjester: you're the reason I HAD to hunt down that MK II set still looks friggin awesome.. I want to try to paint it, but have yet to get started (for everyone else, it doesn't require painting) Liger: Yea I would have preferred getting the normal looking figs, but didn't know where to get them.. Only got the room chibic set instead of the other two (camping, kitchen) because they're just too expensive now.. I actually lucked out on this chibic room... it's 2 yrs old and HLJ still allowed me to order it.. so I tried.. and got it! $17 bucks before shipping butI ordered a few other things too. All the other chibic items are going for stupid prices on ebay.
I too lucked out on my normal version. I was very desperate for the normal set and found them on HK yahoo auctions. However i couldn't beat so i got someone whom I bought in ebay before, who resides in HK to get it for me/ Paid a premium for the set and the set is rare!
ohh didn't know that. glad you got it! Yea.. tried to get them on Yahoo but I couldn't beat out others so I gave up. Not worth it in my opinion.. I was only going to try and build my own
Kawaii Mecha That MKII set looks like a lot of fun. About how big is it all put together? It's like a Hello Kitty gestalt mecha. Leave it to the Japanese to come up with stuff like that. Looking at HLJ and Ebay I see there are some of these available, both as individual ones and a box set that comes with a stand, a fabric cape and two beam sabers. I'm thinking of picking it up, but does it have good play value, i.e. are the model sets sturdy and easy to work with when assembled? I'm thinking more like actual Transformers type toys or Zoids and less like a Gundam model or the Micro Kit Machines (which were fun to assemble, but a terrible combiner). Tim "toy geek"
Woo! I'm influential! Well, I'd like to say they're not at all model like, but that'd be a lie. They ARE models. They're light, and a little twitchy as far as the combining goes. I enjoyed the assembly and watching them all coming together more than the combination, personally, and have since broken them down to individual figures again. Individually, they're still pretty cool, though, and are quite poseable, plus the little included figs are fun in their own right.
Yea what QuinJester said. Also, they're about the size of a deluxe individually. What's cool is that they have three modes: Mode 1: Mecha Mode 2: Alt Mode (For example, the green one can turn into a jet Mode 3: (Special Mode) Which is their combiner mode. The version that comes with the cape, saber, and a gundam-ish base stand is the complete set. That set just came out last month. The individual set was released first and I'm guessing it was really popular so they did a re-release. I've only built the Green one so far and stopped because I decided I want to try to paint these. They're awesome, have no idea how playable they are yet, but I think they're built like gundams (You build them like a gundam model too) I think if you added clear nail polish to the joints and pieces, they'd be a lot sturdier. If you're iffy, you could always buy one as a test, I'd recommend the green one since it has a cool jet mode.. so having that by itself looks pretty cool.. plus they're really cheap ($6 to $12 depending on site) plus shipping.
So, now that I look at that thing and am entranced by it. What is the exact name I would look for it under and about how much are we looking at? Is it a complete set or are they sold individually?
The combined form is God Keron. As stated a bit earlier, it was recently released in giftset form. Otherwise, you can track down the individual models (about $9 each): Keroro Robo Mk. II (green), Giroro Robo Mk. II (red), Tamama Robo Mk. II (black), Kululu Robo Mk. II (yellow), and Dororo Robo Mk. II (blue).
