Hany did just hook me up on Downbeat though! He was out of stock on the site, but messaged me and said he may have an extra after processing orders. Sure enough, he did, and I paid for that thing as fast as I could!! lol

I'm curious, the pure red version worth it? I don't really care if he's Blingster, and actually prefer the unchromed look. How's the QC and such? Is he a good figure overall? Also, what about transformation?

 

Which version of Transistor is that? I want it!

 

That's the most recent "pure red/unpainted/non-metallic" version. All the issues in the previous red metallic versions have been corrected.

Basically there are 3 improved versions of Transistor:
-Doubledeck (Twincast)
-pure red/unpainted/non-metallic
-Shattered Glass Mirrorverse Transistor

 

Sorry, I guess I am asking if the red on this is different than the previous orangish reds released after the red metallic paintedV1 or if its just an additional run of the previous non painted red.​

 

It may be an additional run of the unpainted red. That color red is the exact shame shade red as any copy of the non-metallic version. As long a it is non-metallic it won't have it's issues.

 

Just ordered the Shattered Glass Mirror repaint. I put it off long enough.

 

Looks like a re-issue of the non-metallic Transistor is due out in May, according to TCP's facebook page.

 

I thought it was still readily available.

 

This KFC release is so good I might just have to double down to supplement my metallic red version.

 

These things are cheap to produce.

 

Yeah but I thought the point of reissues were to offer items that have long since been unavailable.
For instance the forthcoming Andras and Swarm 3-Pack reissues makes sense.

 

TCP has no current stock of Transistor and neither does BBTS. Also even if it's available in NA retailers does not mean that it's still available in China or other regions. Keith is probably catering first to those regions and NA retailers are getting a portion.

 

Metallic paint chips and flakes off. No hinges on the hip skirt therefore forward leg movement is limited.
Also, IIRC the cassette tape it came with could not hold its guns very well because the peg holes in the hands were too big. Alsi IIRC the cassette tape had painted parts instead of colored plastic and as a result the paint would rub or flake off when friction was present.
These issues were all fixed with starting with Doubledeck and including with the non-metallic Transistor and the Shattered Glass Mirror (Mirrorverse) Transistor releases.

 

About the only place I've seen the plain red version is TFSource and they're particularly pricey, especially for international sales and shipping. Seems to be sold out everywhere else. I've been burned three times trying to buy from eBay. A re-release is amazing.
It should also serve to quiet some of those constant KFC bashers (but almost am certainly won't) This will be the 5th or 6th run of this particular mould?
