I listen to a good mix of the new stuff(The Strokes, Avril Lavigne, some rap) and old stuff(Supertramp, Led Zeppelin, Queen) and it's pretty much taste

Half of THIS. I also love 80s music, and I too am 16, but there is still some good stuff being put out. Sure we have the Soulja Boys and Kate Perrys, but we also have guys like Lupe Fiasco and bands like Muse playing some crazy shit, so all hope is not yet lost.

But I do like me some Journey....

Sadly the mainstream stuff that gets radio play is usually what sucks, so what we hear is the shitty stuff.

Muse does own, oh so much.

I'm so glad my ipod hooks up to my car stereo. I haven't had to listen to radio music in a looong time!

I thought it was funny. And you're posting a horrible remix of "I kissed a girl" on a Transformers fansite/fan message board.

    Really.

    No, I mean really.

    question....

Isn't a bit sexist that this song has so much publicity?

explanation: I won't explain every detail of my reasoning, but the basic double standard that is applied to the lesbian vs. gay community. Girls makeout = "OMG TEH HAWTNESS". Guys makeout = "ewwww. Im offended". How come "What, what , in the butt" wasn't performed on the today show?

And side rant, I dont think the problem is with pop music in general.... Just the past few years of where the money is being spent. Basically pop music today = The American Idol winners + The odd ballad from a schlock rock band + Disney

There is still a lot of good pop music.... It just doesnt get funding, or exposure. But if you pretty much never listen to the radio or watch a lot of tv( like me, not a choice... just dont have time) .... you don't just run into people handing you an IPOD saying " Omg ! you have to listen to this!" and hear Katy Perry or Miley Cyrus on the headphones.

I think most pop musicians today are more interested in becoming a pop "sensation" than a pop "artist."

Also Katy Perry looks like a less talented Zoey Deschanel

i have no issue with you , Yurre... or your taste in music....

I myself have some songs from "Fergalicious" on my ipod, for the sole purpose of playing them at parties to make girls dance....

I have just been stewin' over Katy Perry :)

btw, Kudos for being in sweden....... The Hives ftw!

Ahhh, hating on other people's musical tastes. How incredibly amusing.
And by "amusing" I do of course mean "laughable".
On topic (such as it is):
I'd never heard this song before. And wow! What a splendid pile of shit it was too. If I never hear it again, it'll be a billion years too soon.

    ...

I'd throw one up Katy Perry though.
But I'd be thinking of Kate Nash.
    Whose music I also loathe.
