Announced today, Oni press will have a comic based on the awesome TV series, "My Name is Earl".

Apparently the guy scripting the book actually works on the show as a producer and wrote the episode "The Bountyhunter". I really hope this turns out to be a hell of a a fun book.

    No.

    Ugh.

I'm all for less Spandex in comic books, but is this really a good idea?

I love Earl the TV show, I’m pessimistic about Earl the comic book.

Good TV shows don't necessariyl make good comics. Look at the family guy comic. As an episode it probably would have been hilarious, but without motion it's only mildly funny.

See, here;s why I think it'll be a decent book, unlike Family Guy. Family Guy is a story in a episode but the gags just randomly fall in. And a lot of them are time orieted which is hard to pull off in a comic. Earl however has the jokes built into the plot. The story is what makes you laugh, not the side gags.

Good point. So ya, it might be a good read. I'm not a huge Earl fan, so I won't bother to buy it, but if I actually followed the show I would.
