And I had no faith in this before. God, this is gonna be worse than Batman and Robin.

It'll be hilarious if it does though.

Affleck got his stuff together recently, at least with directing. His acting is whatever, but he takes better roles so it's less "OMGIMASTAR".

I can roll with the directing, I mean, the guy that directed GI Joe did a Justin Bieber movie before that. The guy that directed Tron was an architect I think. So, regardless of what your past experiences were, you can transition to directing and not suck.

If he acts in it, he should be a non superhero character. Daredevil still lingers around in my mind.

Ben Affleck turned down Man Of Steel because he wasn't comfortable making an effects driven picture. What makes WB think he'll say yes to a movie that'll probably be 10 times bigger in scale?

That's not what that means. We don't even know GI Joe Retaliation doesn't suck yet. And the new Tron didn't exactly light the world on fire. Don't look down on directing as if anyone can do it. That is not the case.

You know, DC, you've been saying that a JL movie is coming for quite some time now. I'm looking forward to it no doubt, but please, just wake me up when something like a teaser or CONCRETE casting news pops up, okay? :)  Because until then it's all just "yep there may be a JL movie coming in the near future perhaps just keep your fingers crossed if everything works out possibly and so-and-so is in the running for maybe being considered to take part"-talk.

    Always appropriate:

    Hi, I'm a Marvel...and I'm a DC. (Mac PC Parody) #1 - YouTube

I don't think Tony was saying that Retaliation wasn't/isn't going to suck, moreso he was commenting on the vastly different material that people can work with. You know, don't say that a director can't do X just because they did Y before. People will be eager to jump on the "he's an awful actor and has directed a few drama films so he can't do a big FX superhero flick"-bandwagon. Bay started out directing car commercials and music videos. Then he went and made some of the biggest, craziest action films of the last two decades. Spielberg made Jurassic Park/Schindler's List and The Lost World: Jurassic Park/Amistad in the same year. Completely different genres that Spielberg was able to handle with proficiency and skill.

Whether or not the movie might suck is an entirely different matter. ;)

Affleck is a very decent director. Gone Baby Gone and The Town were well-crafted movies.

Now the acting part, I can see Affleck as Hal or maybe Barry, if I squint. Learned too many time that the actors we least expect to perform well give us great performs.

I kinda like this choice. I mean Joss Whedon never had a big budget movie before The Avengers either so this could work out well. Ben Affleck is a great director. I loved The Town and Gone Baby Gone and part of that was because of the directing. In terms of acting, I know people like to hate on him, but I think he is a good actor. I liked him in Armageddon, he was good in Daredevil, and he was great in The Town. I think he could play Hal Jordan the best out of all the possible JLA members in the movie.

Although, I think Guillermo Del Toro would be the best choice to direct (other than Joss Whedon or Christopher Nolan).

I'm more concerned with who is writing the script.

Cool idea. If they're gonna reboot Green Lantern I hope they use John Stewart instead of Hal Jordan though
