I'm new to the board, but I've been lurking for a while now. It seems like a great community of Transformer fans here. I'm looking forward to "joining the team!" I'm 30, and I rekindled my fondness for Transformers last year after reading the 1st 6 or so issues of The Dreamwave G1 comics that came out about 4 years ago or so. I just happened to be browsing through a comic book store for kicks one day with my girlfriend and bought a set of them..well, this was around April 2006..and at the time I had a g1 ironhide and 2 stunticons (breakdown & wildrider) left from my childhood..my collection so far SINCE that time consists of:

    Skids #3
    Tracks #4
    Smokescreen #5

So...needess to say...I'm having a blast doing this! I'm also a guitarist of 16 years, so between buying music equipment :music  and now Transformers (g1 all the way of course!), I'm living paycheck to paycheck! ...Anyways, glad to be aboard, and once i move into my new apartment, and get the lovely glass display case I have on layaway built, I get some pics of my ever growing collection. Peace!

Welcome aboard fellow Hastak victim... I mean collector of fine quality items. ; ) It always starts with just 1 or 2 pieces and quickly becomes an obsession. I bought my entire 652 piece collection over the past 24 months and don't regret a minute of it. Just remember not to neglect the girlfriend and you will be fine. Once again, welcome.

Welcome to the Forum! I haven't been here that long, but now at the age of 27, I am also getting back into the swing of things since I have been out of college a year now and have some actual money. My collections grown from around 50 to 150 in the past 8 months and I am completely enjoying it. It's true, you can't let it control you and you have to keep priorities straight, but that really isn't that hard as some people say, IMO. Oh, and you see that "IMO" in my last sentence? Yeah, people will get on your case here if you don't word things in certain ways, and they get vexed easily- they take TFs VERY seriously. Not that I don't take TFs seriously, but when it comes down to it, I don't take a random person on the internets insults or opinions too seriously. I know all forums are somewhat like that and I am sure you know from lurking around this one, but I just though I'd say so.

    Again, welcome!

Welcome to the club! Looks like a nice collection you got going on... wish I had the will power to keep my TF in the box. I just can't seem to do it, it's like they call me "Come on, open us! You know you wanna! Come on play with us!"... maybe I've said too much...

    Welcome to the madhouse!

Thats one hell of a collection, I must admit. Mine were MISB, but unfortunately the box they were in got wet.... they now make a rather nice showcase in my lounge.

    Much to the wife's annoyance.....

    ...one of us...one of us...

Glad to have you around, man. G1 Ironhide is one of only a handful of G1 TFs that I still have from my childhood as well!

Welcome to the forum! Your collection is pretty impressive considering how recently you started getting into TF collecting. So are you only going to limit yourself to G1 toys? But then again if you aren't you'll be even more short on cash like many of us lol.

Yeah, G1 was what I remember from my childhood, so thats where my passion for collecting TF's stems from. Of course, I like the Masterpiece series because...well just look at em!...its like the cartoon came to life! At least in terms of Prime and Megatron (from the pics ive seen so far)...Starscream..well, the color I was disappointed on...but I still think its a awesome looking figure. I collect kinda of in groups (ie, get the bases like Fort Max, Metroplex, etc), then move on to another aspect of it...I'm trying to finish up the Combiners...next up will be Defensor and Piranacon. Im not too interested in Monstructor, but I know many who are a fan of him, so thats cool too...oh, and Scorponok...another big purchase to make. My personal holy grail from my collection is Fort Max, b/c he's complete and in very good condition, along with the box and insert. Also, you may have notice that I have 3 g1 mirages...few reasons for that: he's my favorite autobot car, he likely will never be reissued, and I just love the way the toy looks..so I have my sealed one, my really good condition and tight jointed loose one, and my good looking but slightly loose looser one :lolol

Anyways, I appreciate the welcomes I'm getting on this board...and I'm planning on heading to Botcon this year, as its only a state away for me..I'm in Connecticut, so its only a hour and half drive..its all gonna depend on funds, but we'll see how it goes...Take care my friends!

If you like G1 Mirage go get yourself a Classics Mirage. You won't be disappointed.
