If the blacked out figure is indeed Megatron, it would appear that he is back on Cybertron in his new upgraded form. The sky, the ancient looking pillar with the Decepticon emblem and everything about the cover gives off a Cybertronian vibe.

    Opinions?

interesting, but why and how did he get back there?

it might just be promotional art and not really part of the universe

It definitely looks like the new Megs (the claw hand on the left) and it sure does look like the bottom of the ocean with some other Decepticon parts there.

I think Megatron sent out a signal similar to Prime's and the 'Cons are building an Army underneath the Ocean

Yes, I think that's underwater, not Cybertron.... the burial ground from the end of the first film. Which is remarkably well-lit, considering how deep it is... artistic licence ahoy ;)  You can't keep the main villain of a kid's franchise down!

That's Megs alright, but there is no way they could be underwater unless they've done away with the first film. They couldn't handle a fire extinguisher for cryin' out loud! How are they supposed to handle freezing temps at the bottom of the sea?

Ah, but that was special super secret agent fire extinguisher, developed back when the Hoover Dam was built, that could cripple advanced alien technology of the kind which can cross galaxies unscathed. This is just the sea, innit? And shh, you'll be suggesting the writing wasn't exactly watertight next...

    ;)

Thinking about it, it's a good job they (apart from Megs) all landed in California. They'd have been screwed if they'd landed in this country, never mind somewhere really chilly like Siberia...

That is NOT underwater. It almost looks like it's snowing, though, like underwater particles, but still. And those are robot fists pumping in the air. Looks like his boys are cheering him as he preaches rebellion.

    Artistic license...good one :)
No light would reach even half way to the bottom of the dump, but suppose this is post-revival, and therefore in a new location from his dumping site. Deep sea vents are quite warm - even boiling hot. Also, though noted as 'sub-freezing temperatures', it is liquid, as opposed to his earlier freezing. Anyway, like other sci-fi tales, I prefer to ignore some of the logic for the sake of the story.

If the ocean is what crushed Megatron's body, I doubt he would be proudly standing up in it alive while pumping his fist. :)
