Are you talking about the original miniseries, or the movie miniseries?

I got the movie miniseries awhile back for $6.

Nice work. I remember getting these as a kid - the first 3 in a bag. Wasn't it originally to be a 3 issue series, then expanded to 4?

Yeah, sales for the original Marvel G1 comics were so good that Marvel decided to extend the series...by the way, shouldn't this be in the comics section? So that more comic fans can appreciate this thread? By the way congrats! :D

No, it was supposed to be a 4-issue limited series, then got expanded into an ongoing.

The last issue sports the note "#80 in a four-issue limited series" on the cover.

Ohhh the memories when I saw the above pictures...overall the G1 comics were pretty entertaining but only complaint - Optimus did not have enough "appearances" in his original form and the potrayal and lack of use of G1 Megatron.

i'm quite proud of the fact that as a kid i almost completed the above, especially considering the fact there were no specialty shops back then, just newsstand.

i started from 19, finished up to 80, pre 19 got most of the back issues either as singles or collected digest.

    god i loved comic day.

Yeah, I remember how most of my comics were bought of the newsstand too...every month I would be checking if the issues are out. So you can imagine how amazed and delighted I was when I first visited a comic book store around 18-20 years ago...

I remember selling my mtn bike and using that money to buy issues 45-68 from mile high comics and getting a 1 year subscription to the ongoing around issue 70. I had forgone reading marvel G1 around carwash of doom and picked it back up after reading issue 69 which I bought at a 7-11 on a whim. Transformers #69 was responsible for getting me back into transformers.

I got my comic books at a raceway.

75 cents for a comic book was really high then.

If i only knew what i would be paying now!
