Hit up Wal-Mart on the way home from work and they were putting out the display so I grabbed all 3, with the Bonus Graphic Novels.

The GNs are reproductions of the old Marvel adaptations with the errors and cheesy art and all. The only changes are the removal of the Marvel logos and the addition of Darkhorse and Lucas Books where they could not remove them and have it look funny. Now looking at the box that the Disc/Book came in I was expecting something akin to the lame small as hell one that came with the Batman Begins Collectors Edition, but no these are full size Trade Paperbacks, granted they are not as big as the monsters that Marvel published for these back in the day but still very nice.

Now I opened the DVDs and moved the "Bonus Discs" to the front and the main discs to the back as they will never be used, EVER! The Booklets and the "Bonus Discs" feature some of the coolest old school Star Wars art from back in the day as does the back of the DVD cases (Some of which I remember having when I was a kid). Inside the Booklets is a rundown of each movie but on the lest side is something nice, A pic of Han shooting first and the REAL ghost of Anakin Skywalker at the end of Jedi.

All 3 "Bonus Discs" include a playble demo of the Xbox (1) version of Lego Star Wars II as well

All in all I'm glad I dumped my old box set a few months back and got this, I have wanted the proper versions of these movies on DVD since I first got a DVD player, now if you excuse me it's time for me to go to a Galaxy Far Far Away......

I was sold already, but let me say this adds a level of awesome not previously before seen on earth.

I'll see this a billion more times I'm sure, and it still doesn't matter because this is the original release of the movies. We never thought we'd get it. And when we get it, I sure as hell am snapping them up like I always swore I would, anamorphic or not.

I guess I never understood the folks that bought the original DVD boxsets anyway. It didn't make sense to me to buy the non-original versions of these movies. Oh, I'm not about to complain about finally having a copy of the edited versions included, but I wanted the original Star Wars movies as they were released in the theater. So I just couldn't wrap my head around buying the special editions when they came out, spending years bitching about not having the original releases, and then, when the original releases came out, bitching about having to "buy them again."

So, here I go, buying my first set of Star Wars DVDs. WOO! Gonna be a fun weekend at my place.

    Educate me

Exactly what are these changes that everyone's talking about?

I haven't seen Star Wars,Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi in years. So I'm not familiar with these changes you guys are obviously vexed over.

And what is it about these changes that have vexed you guys so?

Is there a webpage that describe in detail what changes were made to Episodes 4,5 & 6

I have the 2004 sets, and actually like the digital upgrades too them, but still must get these new ones. Nothing beats the originals.
Wondering how long they'll be available since they supposed to be under a limited time?
Want to see that Anakin hologram and cant wait to play the new Lego SW game. The first one was too much fun!

Shaun, cmon man, tell me you're just joking.

I know that the transfers aren't anamorphic, but whats the video and audio quality like apart from that? Can anyone who's watched these tell me?

Ok...im confused. Do these new DVD contain the original versions AS WELL as the Special Editions? Or just the original versions "digitally remastered"

Is Greedo shoots first and Han shoots first versions in the box?

It contains both versions, but the original versions are not remastered at all, just direct ports from the Laser Disc versions as a special feature.

The non-remastering of them is preventing me from getting them.
