It should be ere in 10 days so it will probably take 20 days. Any thoughts on what it is like?
I didn't mind it horribly. There were good bits, and there were bad bits.
Based on our last few All Hail Megatron threads, it's only a matter of time before we get some people in this thread telling you that All Hail Megatron is the worst Transformers comic of all time. Mark my words. With that being said, read it, and judge what it's like for yourself.
I recently read it for the first time so it's still fresh in my mind: it's a fantastic story IMO. It has its flaws and few things IDW did are questionable, but it really is some of the better stuff IDW has put out.
It's not too bad, though my favorite parts were the coda issues.
I liked it! Then again, it was the first series that I'd read since the ole G1 days so I enjoyed getting reaquainted through it. It's been a while since I read it but it seemed like it kind of got a little weird in the last couple of issues. Enjoy!
It's okay. A lot of the vitroil against it was because it was a "soft reboot" and Simon Furman didn't write it (note folks - IDW wouldn't have HAD to do a soft reboot if the Furman stuff was selling well. And this is coming from a big Furman fan).
As an "event" it's pretty good - like almost every other piece of TF tie-in media, it certainly has its plot flaws.
It reads SO MUCH BETTER as a TPB (or the hardback edition) than it ever did as single issues, another reason I think people were very down on it to begin with.
I liked it.
I thought some of the art for the humans was a bit... I don't know, lazy? But the story was pretty good and the Transformers generally looked great!
has a slow start. starts getting good by issue 4
I think this is a very good point. I read the hardcover edition and in retrospect I can definitely see how it might be disappointing reading the story as a monthly title, or whatever it was.
I liked it.
It had a good retro feel to it and had a great ensemble cast. The art was wonderful.
i really enjoyed it reading it as trade paper backs, but it was the first IDW comic i had read at the time. i have sence gone back and picked up everything but maximum dinobots. i can see how some people would not like it, had they been following what IDW has done with transformers from the beginning.
but its a great story and to be able to read it all at once makes it a really great read
The pacing is very strange.
In my country the hardcover costs $105 but i ordered it online so i got it for $51. Should be here on wednesday
I just ordered it too today, should be here in a week or so. I am super excited!!!! Also from an artists perspective, the art in this comic looks AMAZING.
Great idea of a story - horrible execution, especially towards the end where you can see that they realized "Oh shit, we're running out of issues" ...
It wasn't nearly as bad as some of the stuff we're getting shoved down our throats from IDW right now, but believe you me, this was the beginning of a horrible decline in story-telling and art from IDW on what they want you to believe is a flagship title.
Just arrived at home. cant wait to school finishes
havent read all of it but its awesome, hell its Megatron man.
