Like the subject line says.I just got fired today,showed up for my usual shift at 10.Head chef asked me into his office and told me "You're a nice guy,but it's not working out" So he said I might as well go home,which is why I'm here now He said my productivity is low,that I should be ready to go home by 1pm.Which is impossible since the lunch rush starts between 11:45 & 12:15pm.And I'm the only dishperson there at that time handling DOZENS of dishes. I knew it'd happen though,the past few lunches were DEAD.And I feel they over hired for the position because they have 6 dishwashers.Hence why I was fired.But I won't even use them as a reference since I was only there for a month.The restaurant just opened and already lunches are dead.Which means they're over staffed If a dishperson can be ready to go home by lunch,then the restaurant/the dishperson's not busy enough Good thing I've already paid up my trip to BotCon,and I won't bother using this place on my resume since it was for barely a month.But back to step 1 again
Was it a Black Thing? EEOC. That sucks to hear. I'd go kick the boss' ass. Slap him in the mouth at least.
So you were a dishwasher, and you were fired for low productivity? How the hell does that happen? What, were you not washing enough dishes or taking too long to wash them?
If it was a white thing, then the boss probably would've said "Your fired you slacker, now gtfo my office!!" He probably let shaun go in a nice way so he would'nt jump to silly racial conclusions like that , and accuse him of racism. I love you man, but it's not always like that and pulling that silly racial card get's old, and is'nt fair. It's like a large guy accusing the boss of firing him becasue he's fat or something. I think Shaun C was fired becasue he was daydreaming about Botcon too much and just was'nt very motivated by the pay he was getting there Self Consiously working lazily on purpose , hoping to get fired so he can find better one and say F U too the old boss.
Yeah, but also remember that dismissing a race issue - even if it's a joke - ranks up there with "insensitive" as well. Black issue or not, I really, really try to avoid saying things like "Oh, the race card is overplayed" in any situation - ESPECIALLY a work environment situation. I dunno. My feathers ruffle when it comes to stuff like this. Could it be a race issue? Yeah, could be. Shaun's the one that got fired, though, so I've got as little info on it as anyone else.
Im with you Mega Prime and CM I see what you're saying. But getting fired washing dishes and you do everything right, doesn't sound too cool at all. UNLESS, You're leaving something out Shaun. Oh And CM I'll let you have it for some $$$ or as a partial deal for a Grand Max. I mean I have an unused one on the way I bought a few days ago.
Shawn's not having the best of luck with jobs, which makes me suspect that it is not race related, but something else. McDonalds and now this dish washing job. Hate to sound like a dick, but you gotta be doing something wrong to get fired from these jobs. Attitude, performance, attendance, and cleanliness. One of these, or a combination might be the culprit.
