So my wonderful girlfriend just bought me a PSP for my 30th, now I need some advice on what to pick up. I am more of an adventure/rpg player, but I also like fighting and action games. Nothing that's completly 3D as I am one of the unfortunate folks that gets motion sickness easily playing games (I've never played halo). I picked up Tekken Dark Resurrection tonight and was thinking about the new Metal Gear. Any other ideas?

"completely 3D" rules out 99.9% of the game library... or do you just mean "first person view"?

I strongly reccomend both Megaman games. In my opinion they're the best games on the system, and they alone make the system worth owning.

Kingdom of Paradise sounds like something you might like. It's a mix of RPG and Adcenture, and while not the best game on the system, I thought it was good enough for 20 bucks.

First person, anything like that I can't play. And yea on most systems I can't play the most popular games, it sucks.

I saw the megaman remake at Walmart for $19.99, I might go pick that up tomorrow. And I've heard that the Castlevania remake was coming so I'm pretty excited about that. I've been playing thru SOTN on my 360 right now, it's the most use I've gotten out of the system

I'll agree with Megaman X and Megaman Powered Up and also throw in Marvel Ultimate Alliance, Hot Shots Golf and Field Commander. FC is a turn based strategy game.

    LOCO ROCO!

Brilliant, original, charming, utterly playable (but 2-D). I recommend it.
I also play the PSP WIPEOUT a lot - Surprisingly good looking and very playable.

I love the retro collections too: I have the Midway and Namco ones (ROLLING THUNDER on the latter is superb!)

Mod it and play whatever you want. I barely even play PSP games on my PSP anymore, it doesn't help that I find most of them mediocre. Tiger Woods and the GTAs are the only ones I bother with, really.

I have played these and agree they are good. Also

    Sega Collection
    Valkyrie Profile
    Syphon Filter
    Ace Combat
Katamri Damacy (despite only one analog stick)
I liked Monster Hunter but a lot didn't. (lack of online was a big complaint.)

Well..... I can try but I think you may disagree with my suggestions.

Ace Combat X: Skies of Decption - Portable air combat!!

Killzone: Liberation - Agressive shoot and run to cover game.

Marvel Ultimate Alliance - Played just like the Xbox 360 version, just slightly tonned down graphics. Exclusive PSP characters are Ronin, Hawkeye, Blackwidow and Captain Marvel

Syphon Filter Dark Mirror - Another "peek and shoot" action game. This game also really shows what the PSP system is capable of.

Wait til October and pick up Final Fantasy Tactics: The Lion War. They redid FFT with a new translation, new items, and two new classes. They also have extra battles including parts you play as Delita and a battle against Death Knight Algus in Limberry castle.

I've bought several of the classics arcade collections for my PSP and enjoy those quite a bit. But as far as new games?

You already have what I consider the best fighting game on the console. Tekken Dark Resurrection is everything good about the PS2 version of Tekken 5 plus tournaments. I tell you, you can lose yourself in that tournament. I've done that several times.

Lumines of any ilk is pretty awesome, but Lumine's II is mind-blowingly good. Imagine playing a video game over a music video, with every move you make creating a sound that matches the music. It's a puzzle game for the most part, but the videos and music keep it pretty interesting, and the quasi-tetris like game play is very, VERY good.

Sadly, those are the only two games I've bought for the console outside of the nostalgia packs that really get a lot of time put in on them. I have a few others, but they seem to be something I'll play for ten minutes here or there and then not feel like picking back up for a few weeks.

I'm setting forty bucks aside for the Transformers game though. That should be real fun.

Has anyone gotten Gitaroo Man Lives? I haven't seen that mentioned, and had been wanting to pick it up but it's still at 39.99 so I was trying to wait for a sale or a price drop.

Curious about that one myself. Oh, and Ratchet and Clank. Another on my "when I have extra money" list.
