    It won't be "Transformers Zombies".

Pete Sinclair was confused how that rumor started (apparently an off-hand comment made on their panel) and he stated Monday morning that it's not going to be Transformers Zombies.

Just wanted to make a clarification because I had someone not at the show but back home call me and ask me about that, so I figured it's already circulating pretty far.

Yeah. I think it's appropriate to nip that one in the bud.

What happened was, Brian said they had BotCon 2009's set already planned, and that no he wouldn't tell us what it was. Then one of the other panelists (Karl or Ben, maybe?) said something like "don't worry, it's nothing stupid like Transformer Zombies" - at which point many people cheered really loudly, and they all had this dumbfounded, wide-eyed look on their face.

How anyone thought they were serious about the idea is beyond me.

LOL That is awesome.... Now maybe the year after or so, it will be Transformers Zombies for a set since they know the response.

Depends on if the cheer was because folks liked the idea, or if it was because they said they weren't doing it (which is how I interpreted xZAOx's post).

If the former, I'll add it to my list of reasons why polls aren't always such a good thing.

No, you got it backwards. My bad. It was definitely a cheer of "HOLY CRAP THAT SOUNDS HILARIOUS AND OR AWESOME" type. That's why they looked dumbfounded - people were cheering because they liked the idea. Kinda like how they were surprised when the majority liked the April Fool's joke.

To be honest, I'd love a zombie Movie Bonecrusher. But of course, FP can't touch the movie toys, and other than that...

We already know that BotCon 2009 will be PromCon, it will be TF's in tuxes and dresses. I can't wait to have a Rodimus in a pink evening gown!

    Damn.

I was hoping the title "Just for Clarification - BotCon 2009" would lead to the words "will be in the DC Metro area."

Word on the floor is that there's discussion of "Transformers vs. Go-Bots" and the media circus that could ensue... :D  Not that it'd be next year's set or anything, but just that it's been discussed...

Hasbro said they don't have the rights to Go Bots anymore. Reverted back to Bandai or something like that.
