Is his waist supposed to snap into place or what? I don't want to press on anything too hard beause it seems easily breakable.

It doesn't really snap tightly. It's supposed to sit at an angle.

It snaps in, but it pops out easily. Just be careful, and don't force it.

Are you talking about the two connections on the waist going into the two holes in the blue piece? If so you need to push really hard.

I think the blue piece is supposed to sit at an angle, but I'm not sure, either

They're quite tough to get in the first time.

Did you make sure to turn his waist section around? I, and a few other people from my recollection, completely missed that step the first time and had the same problem you are.

It is supposed to. Its just very tough to get it in place the firsty time. You have to push REALLY hard on that piece. That part has nothing to do with the upper body. Turning the chest round doesnt do anything.

On mine, I got the blue peg to go in pretty easily, I don't think the grey ones are supposed to snap in place.

I had the same problem; I ended up carving just a bit of the plastic off of the lips of the holes those pegs go into. Just a TINY bit, just enough to round the square edge off the holes.

Worked like a charm after that, popped right in.

I was misunderstood before as to which pegs you were talking about. I took some pics just to make sure everyone knows which ones you're talking about:

The two black pegs in the front of the above pic do fit into the blue holes above, you just need to squeeze them in.

    The two in this pic:

Don't go anywhere, those are the ones I thought you were talking about in my original post.

If they really dont go in you should do as Megamoonman say and use a knife and carve a bit off to allow it to go in.

While we're on the subject, the instructions say to leave his chest, basically his hood in alt mode, flat whereas in the movie and depictions, those pieces are left at an angle right? I remember when I first got Ironhide, the chest looked silly because even with that center "plank" type piece in place, his chest looked really hollow. It looks a little bit more respectable when I put the two hood pieces at an angle.

Yeah, it's supposed to be angled about 45degrees

I finally got the 2 black tabs to lock in place, but is the blue piece supposed to be at an angle?

Can you or anyone else post a pic so that I can tell if mine is right?
