It's good. It's not the action movie that Aliens is, more of a suspense/horror film. Out of the 4 Aliens movies, this one ranks 2nd best with Aliens #1.

If you've already bought it, why are you asking if it's worth it?

Fantastic movie, my favourite of all the Alien movies.
For 11 dollars, you won't be disappointed.

Alien? Is that like the film Mega Shark vs. Giant Octopus? If so, that's a definite keeper.

Note to self: Nothing Sage says is worth reading.

You whippersnappers and your lack of real movie culture. If you haven't seen Ghostbusters I may have to put you on ignore.

I've seen Ghostbusters. ;)  I've got movie culture to an extent, I just haven't watched this particular film yet. I certainly plan on it though, next time I'm in a Blockbuster, that's the first thing I'm renting.

If I paid $11 for it, I would be disappointed...because I'm cheap. I picked up the director's cut of Alien for $3 at CD Warehouse last month.

And I do recommend the film as well. Great horror/scifi/thriller. I've seen it like a half-dozen times.

Good to hear that I'm getting some bang for my buck (I bought it cause I kept missing it when it was on t.v). Even though I was born in the mid 90's I greatly prefer the movies of the 80's to todays movies. In other words yes I have seen and loved both Ghostbusters.

I've seen Aliens, the last 30 minutes of both 3 and Resseruction. Yet I haven't seen the whole movie which started the battle between a great icon of horror and it's rival: A Mama Bear who can kick it's butt 4 times.

Um, I usually Google or hit up IMDB BEFORE i buy a movie.

Alien is not only a superb sci-fi/horror film, it is a historical film.
it changed the look and feel of sci-fi, breaking the mold that deep space and sci-fi is all sterile and white and boring. It shifted the atmosphere and for a futuristic setting, the actual science (the ship, the equipment, etc) is still quite plausible.

just on the few merits i mentioned (and i liked about the movie) it is worth a viewing alone.
not gonna knock you for paying 11 bucks since i passed up Akira for 3 bucks, lol.

personally, Aliens is a sequel and in the same -verse, but in my opinion the styles are so distinct that i prefer to separate them (genre-wise.)
