Okay, so I'm not good at this customisation thing at all. I'm trying to learn, but I can't do much at the moment. However, I do like taking figures and doing little tweaks on them in the mean time. I feel like Silverbolt got the short end of the stick in the Beast Machines line. He's excessively tiny. I don't have the skill to heavily alter him to give him girth, but I did think of a simple way to give him a boost in height. I simply removed his shins and forearms and replaced them with Animated Swoop's. I do wish I could add at least one extra finger to his hands and take off the middle toe on his feet, but I'm not sure how to do that. I also added pupils and filled in his goatee, but there's not much you can do to make that face look nice.

There's not much that you could do to a figure that size to make it bigger   to get the middle toe off you can use a scalpel, cutting blade or a craft or jewelers saw to remove it and then sand it back with a medium grit wet/dry sandpaper and finally a fine grit wet/dry sandpaper.

Could even use the piece you cut off as a finger.

I’ll be getting the tav version of the swoop mold to see how that looks (only $13!!)

 

For a simple part swap, this actually looks legitimately good (well, as good as Silverbolt can look!)

 

Now if only I knew how to paint he could look half way awesome. Haha.

I had seen someone use Swoop himself to make a custom Silverbolt and the comparison photo looked like the ball joints were about the right size, so I took a shot in the dark, bought both of them and it worked out nicely. Thanks to Silverbolt's longer thighs he even got to be a little taller than swoop. It's a shame they'll likely never do another BM Silverbolt and there's no sign of a generations or legends Silverbolt either. :/ He should really have been a voyager or rather mega in both of his forms.

 

Quick question while I am waiting for my tav swoop to show up, can the swoop hands hold any weapons like swords?

 

Not really. Unfortunately they don't close and they are opened at a fairly wide angle. I don't have too many weapons to try it with, though.

 

good to know, ive got the katanas from botcon alpha trizer i might try and use with him, one more quick question, how does his beast mode look with the new limbs? i imagine it can no longer stand on its own due to the robot hands being shaped the way they are

 

I haven't actually checked what he looks like in beast mode. I was mostly trying to make him look decent in robot mode. But yeah, there's no way he'd be able to stand with those hands. I kind of wish I could find different hands.
