    1. Would I have to get citizenship

    2. .........Can I bring a 94 Taurus without any modifications legally

This is my general guess based on my experience.

    1. You can always get a work-visa. However you need to find a company that is willing to sponsor you in the first place.

    2. Be aware of the import tax. I tried to move my BMW overseas and the tax is two times the value of the car. The car worth about 30k and the total is 100k :(

    What is your career plan?

Hate to burst your "otaku" dreams but japan is not the nerd paradise that gaijins seem to think it is. The country is also insanely xenophobic.

And an apartment in tokyo is going to cost a fucking fortune.

I am really not sure about how work visa works in Japan but based on my general knowledge: You as a foreigner (to Japanese I assume) are not ever likely (if ever possible) to obtain a work visa by just showing up in the japanese embassy. You will most likely to need to show that you have an offer from a japanese company. However, unless you have a great deal of expertise in your field. Japanese companies will not likely to be interested in your job application as it is more expensive to hire foreigners than hiring domestic applicants.

In fact if you go to some companies' career website (i only looked at financial institutions), it will likely states that the company will only hire citizens and permanent residents and will not sponsor work permit.

But don't let my words kill your dream as I said this is only my best guess based on my experience. It could work differently in Japan and it is best to your interest to consult the advisers in your college rather than asking random person on the internet.

    Still thinking it through

like I said in the title I'm still thinking it through (cmon i'm only 16) I still have plenty of time till it's time for me to spread my wings.

I'm stuck between Industrial design and engineering (prolly do both anway)

One this isn't my definite plan it's just an option I'm looking at

I'm pretty sure I can find just what I'm looking for here in the good ol USA but when I put my mind to it i love a good challenge.

i just wanted to know if it's possible for a non Japanese resident to start a life their that's all.
