As the title says. Should I wait or not?

Not sure I want to be collecting another series right now, but I've heard a lot of good things about the series.

The first trade is already out. Collect Death of Optimus and MTMTE 1-3. Issue 7 is due out next week I think.

Go buy the trade and jump in. It's a fantastic ride.

its great, but it kind of forces you to buy RID as well so you know what's going on with the rest of the bots

See, you're dragging me in again!

So, should I get the trade, or track down the individual issues?
That's a meagre amount of issues for one TPB.

Not really. I happily read MTMTE month-to-month without caring much for Bumblebee and friends.

Once you buy the 1st trade you're not going to want to wait for the next.

Yup. You can always read the synopsis on TFWiki if you feel you need to know what's going on in both series. I'm reading MTMTE alone for now, but if I can get my hands on a good deal for RID I'll look into catching up.

Mtmte is the first time I've been buying IDW TF comics since part way through AHM (though I did buy the LSOTW trade because OMG NICK ROCHE). Mtmte is freakin amazing and I love it.

You could wait, but why would you want to wait for what is arguably the best the Transformers has been since it's inception?

Agree with Split Lip, it's not really required reading. Both books are pretty much independent of each other for the moment.

I would say buy the comics. The trade costs more than the issues combined, especially if you don't need to read the Death of Optimus Prime.

I think I'm going to pick up the trades, my LCS doesn't carry the monthlys, or I think I'd have tracked them down.

Well I'll get flamed for this but my personal strategy is dl the illegal scans and then buy the trades off amazon for half price

You're better of with the trade since they take up less space are more conveniently configured. I buy them on iPad so space isn't a huge issue.

for the record - Barber, who writes RID, is also the editor of MTMTE. I have a feeling they are ultimately going to intersect more and more as time goes on.
