I did a thread search, and nothing came up, so here goes...

I've seen the Fast Action battler toy, I've seen the promo movie stills with the Volt, but the character has not appeared in ANY of the books or CGI pics.

Anyone know what's the deal with that character? I know there was a real Volt (well, the shell of a Volt on a Cobalt, the tech is still sketchy and in development) on set in Cairo as well as some stuff done in the LA area, so it's in the film. Simmons' car?

 

It takes too much from the batteries to transform to robot mode

 

He was a late addition,probably didn't have time to add him to the books.

... ive only seen the FAB and the actual toy itself i really am doubhting he has a big role at all...

 

He's one of the Autobots in the film. That's been confirmed time and time again by Orci, Paramount, GM, etc. He's a last minute addition so a lot of the derivative works are based on scripts that existed before his inclusion. There's no big mystery here - all the explanations we've heard are still correct. That's what his "deal" is.

Oh, and he has a Deluxe toy. It was shown off at Botcon last week, and was seen before then from a Wal-Mart website listing earlier this month.

I think he's curious about the robot mode, not if the character's in the movie (he even mentions that he knows it is).

 

He asked "Simmon's car?"

That kinda sounds like he was asking if the Volt seen on set was just Simmons' car, as opposed to a Transformer. It really can't be both.

 

I took it as the same thing as Bumblebee being Sam's car.

 

But what does Jolt have to do with Simmons? Is there any connection between them? And what does that have to do with the thread, if that's correct? From his point of view there's no reason to guess Jolt and Simmons are buddies if he's looking for reasons we don't know about Jolt. But there is reason for him to (wrongly) guess Jolt is a non-Transformer car in the film as a means of explaining why we know little about him, but his vehicle form is in the movie.

 

Maybe.

 

Jolt will either be fodder for devy or the fallen.

He will show up in egypt then be ripped apart

I know! He steps on Jolt, but the electric shoc momentarily stuns him so the Bots/humans have a chance to get in some good hits. Then he'll die a semi-hero.

 

I KNEW that a Chevy Volt is in the movie, but wasn't 100% sure it was a Transformer. Remember that the tow truck from the first movie ALSO got a transformer toy, although that truck was never an autobot.

I take everything and anything by Orci, Bay, or Paramount with a HUGE grain of salt, coz it's been my experience that film makers will lie, cheat, steal, rape, and murder just to get people into the theater seats.

As I said, yes I saw the promo pics of GMC vehicles in Egypt, but that's the only thing I saw, so I wasn't sure if they actually made the Volt into a robot or not. As for being Simmons car, that was just guessing a role for the vehicle to be there if it is not a TF.

I'm glad Jolt will be in there (even though I call him "Bluestreak" in my mind). They need more than just Sideswipe and the ******-twins.
