    Hi guys,

I wanted to know if the joints on MP Grimlock are clicky-clicky ratcheting like on ROTF Prime or not. Thanks!

Thanks for the replies. Sorry I didn't phrase the question well enough. I'd like to know if most of the joints are ratcheting. I'm hoping for at least shoulder, elbow, hip, and knee.

From memory(my MP Grimlock is packed away), I know the shoulders are on ball joints. And I believe the elbows, hips, and knees are ratcheted.

The hips don't click, but the knees and elbows (not quite as pronounced) do.

This. The knee ratchets are pretty much as sturdy as ratchets can possibly be, although the range of motion isn't as large as I'd like. Elbows...hmm. I didn't even realize they were ratcheted until just now when I saw your post. Either way, the elbow joints won't be weak. To be honest, MP Grimlock's weakest joints are probably the hip and shoulders.

Darn, that might be tough, as those joints are where stress hits hardest. Thanks guys.

The shoulders and hips don't ratchet, but they are still quite sturdy. I don't think you'd have to worry about them wearing out anytime soon...or in the next decade for that matter. The shoulders in particular, despite their non-ratchetyness are quite stiff (on mine at least) thanks to the simple inclusion of a PVC cup for the ball joint, similar to what you see on Gundam models.

Agreed. The joints are likely the last thing you'd need to worry about with Grimlock. Everything is tight and solid. Actually, the only thing I can really think of to worry about with Grimlock is that screw rubbing chrome on the tail when in robot mode. Otherwise he's pretty close to the most bulletproof transformer I've ever owned.

Yah, he's well solid. More solid than my 20th Prime, whose bastard leg keeps falling off and a million times less fragile than any of the MP seekers

    Very nice. Thanks.

I hope this translate over to the Hasbro version, I can't afford the Takara one.
